Making a Comeback: 263,000 Jobs Added in March, More Than Expected

The U.S. job market continued to climb in March, adding 263,000 more jobs, well above the projected 185,000, according to CNBC.

The totals are also more than the 245,000 reported for February.

Even more interesting is that goods-producing jobs continued to rise.  Construction accounted for 49,000 new jobs while manufacturing, trade, transportation, and utilities each grew by at least 30,000.

It was announced on Monday that the U.S. trade deficit to China has fallen to a record low and American exports increased substantially.

The deficit fell to $43.6 billion, 9.6 percent below January's deficit of $48.2 billion, while imports on Chinese goods fell by $8.6 billion.  The overall trade deficit with China narrowed in February to $23 billion, 26.6 percent below the January total.

During a speech to construction workers on Monday, President Trump promised to repair America's infrastructure by using American goods and labor.

“We’re a nation of builders, and it was about time we had a builder in the White House,” Trump said.
