CNN Labels Susan Rice Surveillance Story as "Fake News Created by Right-Wing Media"

CNN host Don Lemon is not happy with numerous reports by several independent news outlets which accuse former national security advisor under Barack Obama, Susan Rice, of directing government agencies to "unmask" members of President Donald Trump's campaign team.

Monday night, during his show "CNN Tonight," Lemon declared that any report on Obama's former advisor was merely a "fake scandal ginned up by right-wing media and Trump."

"We will not insult your intelligence by pretending," the stories are legitimate, he said. "Nor will we aid and abet the people trying to misinform you, the American people, by creating a diversion. Not going to do it."

CNN's Chris Cuomo also deemed that reporting on Susan Rice is a "crooked scheme."

Independent reports released by Fox News and The Daily Caller both claim that Rice was directly involved with surveilling President Trump's campaign efforts in 2016.

“What was produced by the intelligence community at the request of Ms. Rice were detailed spreadsheets of intercepted phone calls with unmasked Trump associates in perfectly legal conversations with individuals,” U.S. Attorney Joseph diGenova told The Daily Caller News Foundation Investigative Group Monday.

However, during an interview in March, Rice completely denied any such actions, claiming she "knows nothing."

Therefore, according to CNN, any contrary report that would negate Rice's claim, is "fake."
