A new CNN/ORC Poll shows the majority of Americans, including an overwhelming number of independent voters, are concerned about the ongoing saga and want a special prosecutor to investigate.

Broken down by party affiliation, only 43 percent of Republicans think a special prosecutor is necessary to handle the investigation, while 82 percent of Democrats and 67 percent of independents call for a special prosecutor.
