Former ExxonMobil chief executive Rex Tillerson is almost set to take the reigns of the U.S. State Department after being approved by the senate for an official vote on Wednesday.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell described Tillerson as “well qualified" on Monday.

Senators voted 56-43 on a procedural hurdle.
