Trump: Claims of My Involvement in ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ Are ‘Fake News’

On Thursday, Variety reported that President-elect Donald Trump will remain the executive producer of NBC’s “Celebrity Apprentice.” According to CNN, the news was confirmed by NBC and the Trump camp. Kellyanne Conway even went on CNN’s “News Day” and defended Trump’s supposed decision to stay involved in the show.

However, on Saturday, Trump tweeted that those claims are false.

I have NOTHING to do with The Apprentice except for fact that I conceived it with Mark B & have a big stake in it. Will devote ZERO TIME!

The President-elect singled out CNN, accusing it of spreading fake news, even though the report originally came from Variety

Reports by @CNN that I will be working on The Apprentice during my Presidency, even part time, are ridiculous & untrue - FAKE NEWS!

It is unclear, then, whether Trump will remain in the credits as executive producer, or receive money for the show, even if he is not actually involved in its production during his presidency.
