The CIA has found reason to believe that Russians interfered in the 2016 election to help Donald Trump win. The Washington Post reported the revelation late Friday night.
“It is the assessment of the intelligence community that Russia’s goal here was to favor one candidate over the other, to help Trump get elected,” said a senior U.S. official briefed on an intelligence presentation made to U.S. senators. “That’s the consensus view.”
The Trump transition team released a statement undermining the new report, with a reminder that the agency failed to find weapons of mass destruction in Iraq.

The CIA's assessment is only part of the investigation into the 2016 election. President Obama ordered a full review of the hacking claims and he wants it on his desk before he leaves office next month.
