To earn enough votes to win the presidency of the United States – you inevitably make a few enemies along the way. This is to be expected from members of the opposing party, but Trump broke tradition with the amount of haters he earned from the GOP during the course of the campaign.
However, after shocking the world by getting elected president of the United States, things are beginning to change for Trump.
Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Mitt Romney, and Ohio Governor John Kasich all congratulated Trump on his victory via social media. That wasn’t all, though. These same three have spoken to Trump over the phone in past 24 hours. The phone conversations have been described as “cordial” and congratulatory in nature.
These are just a few who have been very critical of Trump in recent past. Romney blasted Trump for his perceived harsh rhetoric on the campaign trail. Romney actively campaigned for rival GOP candidates during the primary. Jeb Bush made it public that he would not be voting for Trump in the general election, as did Ohio Governor John Kasich (who voted for John McCain).
George W. Bush and George H. W. Bush have also made phone calls to Donald Trump. It has been rumored that some in the Bush family not only refused to vote for Trump, but voted for Hillary Clinton, instead. A spokesman for George W. and Laura Bush said the couple did not vote for either candidate.
