A bar in Virginia has come under fire for using a Colin Kaepernick jersey as a doormat in protest of his refusal to stand for the National Anthem at football games, disrespect for the flag and “sportsmanship.”
Local resident James Perry posted a photo of the “doormat” on Facebook, lambasting the restaurant for the “racist act.”

Of course not everyone was upset. Carol Bevilacqua told FOX 8 “we live in a free country” and that she thinks “people are allowed to do what they want.”
The Krossroads Rock and Country Bar is not the first establishment to use the jersey as a doormat. A Texas cigar lounge and Chicago mattress store have done the same.
