US Sending Saudi Arabia $1.15 Billion Worth of Tanks and Equipment

Just weeks after the House Intelligence Committee released 28-pages of declassified information detailing that fifteen of the nineteen 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, the U.S. has decided to sell $1.15 billion worth of tanks and equipment to the Islamic country.

The U.S. State Department has approved the potential sale of more than 130 Abrams battle tanks, 20 armored recovery vehicles and other equipment, according to Reuters

"This sale will increase the Royal Saudi Land Force’s (RSLF) interoperability with U.S. forces and conveys U.S. commitment to Saudi Arabia's security and armed forces modernization," said the U.S. Defense Security Cooperation Agency.

Tactics like these have become common in U.S. foreign policy plans.  The U.S. Defense Department has donated roughly $858 million worth of real property to the Afghanistan's government over the last five years.
