Reports of Shots Fired at Capitol Visitor Center UPDATE: Townhall on Scene; Videos With Witnesses

UPDATE: Townhall's Leigh Wolf was on the scene and was able to speak to a few witnesses to the shooting.

UPDATE: Most things, other than the Visitor Center, have been re-opened and the shelter-in-place order has been lifted.

UPDATE: Earlier reports of an injured officer are false. A bystander was hit by shrapnel, but injuries are not serious.

UPDATE: The White House was on lockdown for an unrelated incident. The individual is now in custody.

UPDATE: According to AP Capitol police officer has been shot, but the injuries are described as "not serious." The shooter is also in custody.

UPDATE: The DC police are now saying that there is no threat to the public.

There are reports of shots fired at the Capitol Visitor Center. Tourists are being told to avoid the area and a shelter in place order has been issued. Congress and White House are both on lockdown.
