Trump, Carson Say Name-calling Was 'Part of Game'

Donald Trump said Ben Carson was just an “OK doctor,” he claimed he was so low-energy that he’s like “Ambien for insomnia,” and even likened his “pathological temper” to that of a child molester. And yet, when all was said and done, Carson ended up throwing his support behind the real estate mogul, officially endorsing him Friday morning.

So, what gives? According to both Trump and Carson, all the insults on the campaign trail were just “part of the game.”

During his endorsement on Friday, Carson said they’ve “buried the hatchet,” insisting the criticisms of his campaign were nothing more than “political stuff.”

“We move on because it’s not about me. It’s not about Mr. Trump. It’s about America. And this is what we have to be thinking about,” Carson said.

And Trump, speaking with the hosts on “Fox & Friends” Friday morning, had nothing but kind words for Carson, saying he’s “a terrific guy, loved by everybody.”

During Thursday night’s GOP debate, Trump said that if elected, Carson would be very involved in the development of an education plan in his administration, noting that it’s something that “really is an expertise of his.”
