Decision Desk Issues Mea Culpa After Premature Call of Michigan Race

Sen. Bernie Sanders' victory in Michigan on Tuesday took just about everyone by surprise. Hillary Clinton had a pretty comfy 20+ point lead in polls, and the majority of pundits expected her to cruise to an easy victory.

While the majority of networks had hesitated to call the race until Wayne County's results came in, Decision Desk issued a call immediately as polls in the state's Upper Peninsula (which is partially on Central time) closed.

...Which clearly didn't end up panning out for them. Decision Desk, to their credit, issued an apology via Periscope and then had quite a bit of fun mocking their error.

To its credit, Decision Desk correctly called the rest of the night's races.
