Carly Rips Into DHS Screening Process; ‘For Heaven’s Sakes Every Parent In America Is Checking Social Media’

When asked if America’s technological industry should help the FBI crack encrypted communications sent from ISIS, former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina noted that the government is so far behind regarding this area of national security that it’s downright incompetent.

“The bureaucratic processes that have been in place since 9/11 are woefully inadequate as well. What do we now know? That DHS [Department of Homeland Security] vets people by going into databases of known of suspected terrorists, she said. “And yet we also know that ISIS is recruiting people who are not in those databases. So, of course, we’re going to miss them.”

Guy wrote about how Tashfeen Malik, one of the San Bernardino shooters who had been radicalized since 2013, and her social media presence wasn’t even reviewed for fear of “a civil liberties backlash and ‘bad public relations’ for the Obama administration.” Malik eventually passed three background checks.

Carly torched the DHS on this development as well.

“The DHS says, ‘no we can’t check their social media;’ for heaven’s sakes every parent in America is checking social media, and every employer is as well, but our government can’t do it. The bureaucratic procedures are so far behind our government has become incompetent, unresponsive, corrupt,” and that, she says, has created a serious security problem.

Editor's noteFBI now tells us that Tashfeen Malik and Syed Farook had zero social media presence after they had reportedly become radicalized.
