By now, you've likely heard of the massive data breach of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) that resulted in the Chinese acquiring the personal data of over 21 million Americans who worked for the federal government. This afternoon, Katherine Archuleta, the director of OPM, resigned from her position.

Yesterday, many right-leaning Twitter users took to retweeting Archuleta's critical comments about then-candidate Mitt Romney's views on foreign policy. Archuleta served a prominent role in Obama's 2012 campaign.

— Katherine Archuleta (@Archuleta2012) October 22, 2012Romney, as my colleague Allahpundit over at Hot Air pointed out, was proven doubly correct yesterday when not only were his claims that China was hacking our computers were proven true, but also that Russia is our top geopolitical foe.
Yesterday, Archuleta had insisted that she would not be resigning.
Archuleta's statement said that she felt "it was best to step aside and allow new leadership to step in." The statement did not mention the Chinese hack specifically, but alluded to "current challenges" facing the organization.
