Poll: CO U.S. Senate Seat 'Slipping Away' from Udall

The Colorado U.S. Senate seat ‘appears to be slipping away’ from Democratic Senator Mark Udall, according to a Rasmussen Reports poll released Monday.

The results show Republican Rep. Cory Gardner with 51 percent of the vote compared to Udall’s 45 percent.

Almost half (48 percent) of registered voters claim they have already voted using the new all mail-in voting system. Early tallies of the ballots show Republicans with a 12 point lead over Democratic voters. Among those who have yet to vote, Gardner leads 52-45.

Interestingly enough, my colleague Guy wrote a post this morning which showed a nationwide narrative of GOP victory. The highlighted findings from a NBC News and Wall Street Journal poll revealed that:

“Republicans have expanded their advantage in the final days of the midterm campaign and now hold an 11-point lead among likely voters on the question of which party should control Congress....”

Only last month BBC News mused: "as goes Colorado, so goes the nation?" These early results show an intriguingly accurate forecast.
