5 Ironic Titles Given to Liberals

Wendy Davis - Champion for Children

Before she filibustered for 11 hours on the right to abort unborn babies, Davis was named the “Champion for Children” by The Equity Center.

Gloria Steinem - Freedom Fighter

The nation’s highest civilian honor, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, is being presented to a woman whose main ‘accomplishments’ include a lifetime of advocating for abortion, convincing women they don’t need men and shirking their maternal duties.

As National Review explains,

She believes having children should not be a deep part of a woman’s identity. She thinks getting married makes a woman a “semi-nonperson.” She believes abortion is a basic right, “like freedom of speech or freedom of assembly.” She promotes day care and believes, or believed at one time anyway, that children suffer from too much Mommy.

It looks like the only thing 'freedom' she enjoys fighting for is women's liberation from their homes and children.

Hillary Clinton - American Patriot

From Freedomoutpost.com,

According to the NDU, "The American Patriot Award recognizes men and women of extraordinary caliber whose leadership has strengthened our nation's strategic interests and advanced global security."

Yes, Ms. “What difference does it make?” is receiving an award for defending freedom. Apparently dismissing the cause of death of four Americans in Benghazi, Libya merits the title of ‘patriot.’

Cory Booker - One of the 20 Most Innovative People in Democracy in 2012

This title was awarded to Booker for his innovation in technology, but the title is contradictory nonetheless considering the choices he's made as Mayor of Newark, New Jersey.

Nothing says democracy like promoting the use of food stamps by trying it out himself. He may have been trying to prove that food stamps aren't government handouts, but many would argue the SNAP program to some extent makes one dependent on the federal government. In any case, techcrunch.com was too busy fawning over the mayor’s mad Twitter skills:

Booker’s remarkable eloquence in 140 characters could do to Twitter what Shakespeare did to the once drab English language.

Bill Clinton - Champion of Peace...for Women

From HuffPo:

The former president called for both the continued empowerment of women as well as "the liberation of men" from their role as aggressors throughout history, urging a new cultural understanding of what power -- and empowerment -- looks like.

Do I even need to point out the contradiction here?
