Feminist On Hillary Clinton: ‘The Woman Is A Disaster!’

***Click Here For Live Election Results***

Yes, millennials weren’t really excited about Hillary Clinton. Yes, there were some women who weren’t going to vote for her based on her gender, but let’s get real: there are a lot of women who are voting for Clinton solely on this fact. They’re not going by her accomplishments (because there aren’t any); they’re going by her biology. Madeleine Albright said there was a special place in hell for women who oppose Clinton. Well, I guess Camille Paglia is one of those ladies. Make no mistake; Paglia isn’t a conservative. She voted Green Party in the last election, but she’s pro-liberty and anti-safe space. She’s of the opinion that life is tough. That adversity is real, and that women should take it on and not be coddled. She also isn’t part of the end of men garbage, in which she openly proclaims that if it weren’t for “manmade capitalism,” she wouldn’t have been able to write bestsellers. Most of all, for women of the feminist persuasion who might lean towards Clinton, Paglia has this to say: she’s a total and complete disaster.

Via Spectator UK:

Hillary hasn’t suffered — Paglia continues — because she is a woman. She has shamelessly exploited the fact: ‘It’s an outrage how she’s played the gender card. She is a woman without accomplishment. “I sponsored or co-sponsored 400 bills.” Oh really? These were bills to rename bridges and so forth. And the things she has accomplished have been like the destabilisation of North Africa, causing refugees to flood into Italy… The woman is a disaster!’

Not that Paglia was always opposed to the Clintons. She voted for Bill Clinton twice before becoming revolted by the treatment meted out to Monica Lewinsky: ‘One of the very first interviews I did here — the headline was “Kind of a bitch — why I like Hillary Clinton”. My jaundiced view of her is entirely the result of observing her behaviour. And last election, I voted for Jill Stein’s Green party. So I have already voted for a woman president.’

My philosophy of feminism,’ the New York-born 69-year-old explains, ‘I call street-smart Amazon feminism. I’m from an immigrant family. The way I was brought up was: the world is a dangerous place; you must learn to defend yourself. You can’t be a fool. You have to stay alert.’ Today, she suggests, middle-class girls are being reared in a precisely contrary fashion: cosseted, indulged and protected from every evil, they become helpless victims when confronted by adversity. ‘We are rocketing backwards here to the Victorian period with this belief that women are not capable of making decisions on their own. This is not feminism — which is to achieve independent thought and action. There will never be equality of the sexes if we think that women are so handicapped they can’t look after themselves.’

Given these remarks, one could only imagine Paglia’s reaction to when people said that Hillary Clinton is the most qualified person to ever run for the presidency. It’s as if the Left has no grasp of history, even in the modern era of presidential history. For all of his faults, Bill Clinton was governor of Arkansas. George W. Bush was governor of Texas. One of my friends aptly noted that George H.W. Bush (war veteran, congressman, U.N Ambassador, CIA Director, Vice President) is far more accomplished than Clinton. The point is that all three of these men had experience running things, whole states, whole budgets, and drafting policies that directly impacted the lives of their constituents. Clinton has done none of that.

I’m a Korean-American. Asians are horribly underrepresented in media and politics. Yet, I don’t really care. If a major party nominated an Asian American and that person turned out to be pro-gun control, pro-abortion, pro-tax, anti-coal, etc., I wouldn’t even consider that person. As you vote today remember, you don’t owe someone your vote because they’re the same gender, race, or ethnic group as you. That’s what Democrats want, which has devolved into a rigid tribalism, a soft balkanization of politics that brings with it an ethos that ostracizes anyone who deviates from any given a talking point in the progressive cesspool. It’s your vote. Who cares what other people think. If they shun you, then maybe it’s time to get new friends.
