Here's Why This Transgender Woman Sued This Restaurant Chain

In August, Townhall covered how a court in Australia ruled that removing a transgender person from a female-only social networking app constituted discrimination.

Before this,Townhall reported in April how Roxanne Tickle, a “transgender,” from New South Wales, Australia, sued the women-only platform Giggle for Girls after the company reportedly blocked his profile in 2021.

Tickle is a man who thinks he’s a woman.

This week, the New York Post reported that a “transgender woman” is suing Hooters for refusing to hire “her.”

The restaurant, however, claims that he was kicked out for inappropriate behavior (via NYP):

Brandy Livingston told NEWS 10 that she applied three times to work as a tight-topped staffer at the chain’s diner in Colonie — despite alleging that she was harassed by staff there as a regular customer.

“They would use male pronouns — they would refer to me as ‘he,'” alleged Livingston, who only recently transitioned to female.

“I overheard one of the servers after I left the restroom talking to one of the managers and said, ‘Why are you allowing him in the women’s restroom?’ And the manager said, ‘Oh, I don’t like it any more than you do,” Livingston alleged.

Livingston applied to work at the restaurant three times and was rejected each time.

Reportedly, the hiring manager said, “Oh, we don’t care about experience. We hire on the basis of personality. And there’s an image that needs to be met.”

The restaurant has a different recollection of events.

Reportedly, Livingston made several serves uncomfortable by “proposing marriage and discussing masturbation — and even threatened to go to a gun range to practice for the next time she visited” the Post noted.

Livingston is suing the establishment for sex-based discrimination.

“What I really want is an apology. I’m never going to get that,” he said.
