Trump Takes on 'Little Adam Schiff,' Universal Healthcare, Immigration in Morning Tweets

President Trump said “no thanks” to Democrats talking about universal health care Monday morning on Twitter. He also took a swipe at Rep. Adam Schiff and seemed to comment on a report about a bipartisan immigration reform bill to be introduced Monday.

“The Democrats are pushing for Universal HealthCare while thousands of people are marching in the UK because their U system is going broke and not working. Dems want to greatly raise taxes for really bad and non-personal medical care,” he wrote. “No thanks!”

The comment comes after protesters took to the streets of London over the weekend to speak out against health service budget cuts and restraints. UKIP leader Nigel Farage was discussing the demonstration on “Fox & Friends” Monday morning.

Sen. Bernie Sanders, among other Democratic lawmakers, have long been in favor of a single payer system.

As for Schiff, Trump slammed the ranking member of the House Intelligence Committee as “one of the biggest liars” in Washington.

“Little Adam Schiff, who is desperate to run for higher office, is one of the biggest liars and leakers in Washington, right up there with Comey, Warner, Brennan and Clapper! Adam leaves closed committee hearings to illegally leak confidential information. Must be stopped!” Trump wrote.

Schiff pushed back and accused the president of spreading “false smears.”

"Instead of tweeting false smears, the American people would appreciate it if you turned off the TV and helped solve the funding crisis, protected Dreamers or...really anything else," Schiff said.

The president also took a moment to note that House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is “a man of tremendous courage and grit.”

“Representative Devin Nunes, a man of tremendous courage and grit, may someday be recognized as a Great American Hero for what he has exposed and what he has had to endure!” he said.

Republicans on the committee voted last week to released the four-page memo disclosing government surveillance abuses, despite a significant amount of pushback from Democrats and the FBI. Trump approved the memo’s release, which confirmed the Russian dossier was used to obtain a FISA warrant on at least one member of the Trump campaign.

Turning his attention to immigration, Trump seemed to be responding to the bipartisan legislation to be introduced Monday by Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Chris Coons (D-Del.), which does not include funding for a border wall.

“Any deal on DACA that does not include STRONG border security and the desperately needed WALL is a total waste of time,” Trump tweeted. “March 5th is rapidly approaching and the Dems seem not to care about DACA. Make a deal!”
