Rep. Steve Scalise Transferred Out of the ICU

Rep. Steve Scalise, who was critically injured after being shot in the hip during a congressional baseball practice last week, was transferred out of the intensive care unit at MedStar Washington Hospital Friday, FoxNews.com reports.

Scalise’s condition was upgraded from “serious” to “fair” Wednesday.

“Congressman Steve Scalise continues to make good progress,” MedStar said in a statement earlier this week. “He is now listed in fair condition and is beginning an extended period of healing and rehabilitation.”

As Lauretta reported, Scalise’s children were hosted at the Congressional Picnic Thursday where they got a “beautiful tour” of the White House, President Trump said.

In other good news, lobbyist Matt Mika, who was also shot in the attack on Republican lawmakers last week, is now in good condition, ABC 7 News reported Friday.
