President Trump Condemns Suspicious Packages Sent to Democrats: 'In These Times We Have to Unify'

President Trump spoke about the suspicious packages that have been sent to prominent Democrats, including the Clintons and former president Barack Obama, Wednesday. Prior to a White House opiod bill signing event, Trump vowed that “the full weight of our government” is investigating the “despicable acts.” He also said that “we have to come together” as a country to condemn such violence.

“As we speak, the packages are being inspected by top explosive experts and a major federal investigation is now underway,” he announced. “The full weight of our government is being deployed to conduct this investigation and bring those responsible for these despicable acts to justice. We will spare no resources or expense in this effort.”

“In these times we have to unify, we have to come together and send one very clear, strong, unmistakable message that acts or threats of political violence of any kind have no place in the United States of America,” he emphasized.

President Trump added that that sentiment was bipartisan.

“I can tell you from both sides, we both agree on that,” he said. "This egregious conduct is abhorrent to everything we hold dear and sacred as Americans.

“We're extremely angry, upset, unhappy about what we witnessed this morning,” he concluded, “and we will get to the bottom of it."

Law enforcement sources are reporting that suspicious devices were sent to George Soros, the Clintons, and the former residence of former President Barack Obama. There was also reportedly a package sent to the Florida office of Democratic Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz. That package was addressed to former Attorney General Eric Holder but went to Wasserman Schultz as it had her return address.
