Sarah Palin: I Hope Becoming a Grandma Will Turn Hillary Clinton Pro-Life

Sarah Palin and Hillary Clinton officially have something in common. After Chelsea Clinton announced she was pregnant with her first child, Hillary proudly tweeted she was a “Grandmother-To-Be.” As a fellow grandmother, Palin is hoping this new bundle of joy will change Clinton’s views on abortion. The former governor of Alaska shared this expectation with Extra’s Mario Lopez:

'Just knowing that her daughter Chelsea is pregnant with a baby — it’s a real baby — it’s not some disposable something,' will make Hillary reconsider her stance on the issue.

The former vice presidential nominee noted that her comment 'will be controversial, but those who, perhaps, they’re in this position now as a parent or a grandparent, they realize sanctity of life, how innocent, how precious it is.'

Palin said she that when Hillary becomes a grandparent it will 'broader her world view' on issues such as the national debt and abortion.

'So maybe even on a social issue like that, she'll open her eyes,' Palin said.

Clinton’s support for abortion is no secret. This is a politician who in 1999, in a speech to the National Abortion Rights Action League, said she wanted to “keep abortion safe, legal and rare into the next century."

In case that wasn't clear enough:

“I am and always have been pro-choice, and that is not a right any of [us] should take for granted. There are a number of forces at work in our society that would try to turn back the clock and undermine a woman’s right to chose, and [we] must remain vigilant.”

These statements suggest Clinton is staunch in her pro-choice views, but there’s nothing like celebrating a new life to really make someone reflect on the miracle of life and how precious it is. I share Palin's hope that Hillary will have the same revelation.
