BREAKING: Ted Cruz Wins Wisconsin

NBC News is projecting that Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) is the winner of the Wisconsin Republican primary.

Cruz had jumped to an early lead as polls closed, and the race was called approximately 20 minutes later.

In the weeks leading up to the election, Cruz landed the endorsement of Gov. Scott Walker, CatholicVote (which is based in Wisconsin), and Wisconsin Right to Life. Cruz had a decent lead over Trump in the majority of polls taken prior to the election.
