ABC News reported on Friday that a top staffer to Democrats on the Senate Appropriations Committee issued a "call to arms" to lobbyists, asking them to join Democrats in fighting the spending cuts proposed by Republicans.
The meeting, held on January 24, apparently attracted about 400 people.
It's time for the Democrats to speak clearly about whose side they are on: The lobbyists, who want the spending spree to continue for the special interests, or the American people?
Kind of smokes out whom the Democrats are really representing, doesn't it? Let's hear no more high-minded rhetoric denouncing the "special interests" from them while they're playing these kinds of games.
