Can you imagine the frenzy of outrage that would have erupted in 2004 if a Republican senator who had never served in the military had made the kind of remarks about John Kerry's service that

Democrat Senator Jay Rockefeller made about John McCain's?

Amazingly, there is no coverage of the remark or the apology today in The Los Angeles Times or The Washington Post. The New York Times ran this -- on page A19.
