The spotlight is always on President Obama and his disastrous policies, and rightfully so. But as we don't know a whole lot about his past — thanks for that, mainstream media — we know even less about the woman who is pulling all the strings in this administration: Valerie Jarrett.
Thanks to Judicial Watch, we now know a little bit more about her and her family's has ties to communism.
Before delving further into Judicial Watch's report, it's important to recognize why Jarrett is an important figure. She is Obama's most trusted adviser, as author Paul Kengor describes her influence as "remarkable":
As Michelle Obama told the New York Times, Jarrett “automatically understands” the “values” and “vision” of the Obamas. She is “never afraid” to tell them the truth. “She knows the buttons, the soft spots, the history, the context.”
Like her husband, Michelle speaks of Valerie like a sibling. Actually, that and more: “Like a mom, a big sister, I trust her implicitly.”
Barack says Valerie is “someone I trust completely.” “She is family.” As president, he trusts Jarrett “to speak for me, particularly when we’re dealing with delicate issues.”
And she is close enough for Obama to overrule Joe Biden and former chief of staff Bill Daley on policy decisions:
Valerie Jarrett pushed for the HHS mandate requiring all religious believers and groups, including institutional churches such as the Roman Catholic Church, to fund abortion drugs and contraception. According to the New York Times and Politico, she did so even as the likes of Joe Biden and Obama Chief of Staff Bill Daley urged the White House to carefully consider the backlash from the Catholic Church. Biden and Daley lost out to Valerie Jarrett and Kathleen Sebelius. No surprise. Obama usually sides with Jarrett.
In addition, as Judicial Watch points out, Jarrett was heavily involved in former Attorney General Eric Holder covering up the illegal gun-running scheme that was Operation Fast and Furious. She was also involved in real estate scandals, including getting wealthy off of a Chicago slum project run by Tony Rezko, a convicted felon who had previously donated to Obama.
So Jarrett wields enormous power within the administration. Thus, what she thinks is what Obama thinks. And yet we know so little about her...
Which makes Judicial Watch's discovery all the more important. The FBI had files on Jarrett's dad, maternal grandpa, and father-in-law that show that they were die-hard communists being investigated by the federal government.
First, the information on Jarrett's dad and grandpa (emphasis mine):
Jarrett’s dad, pathologist and geneticist Dr. James Bowman, had extensive ties to Communist associations and individuals, his lengthy FBI file shows. In 1950 Bowman was in communication with a paid Soviet agent named Alfred Stern, who fled to Prague after getting charged with espionage. Bowman was also a member of a Communist-sympathizing group called the Association of Internes and Medical Students. After his discharge from the Army Medical Corps in 1955, Bowman moved to Iran to work, the FBI records show.
According to Bowman’s government file the Association of Internes and Medical Students is an organization that “has long been a faithful follower of the Communist Party line” and engages in un-American activities. Bowman was born in Washington D.C. and had deep ties to Chicago, where he often collaborated with fellow Communists. JW also obtained documents on Bowman from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) showing that the FBI was brought into investigate him for his membership in a group that “follows the communist party line.” The Jarrett family Communist ties also include a business partnership between Jarrett’s maternal grandpa, Robert Rochon Taylor, and Stern, the Soviet agent associated with her dad.
Those are some pretty big communist ties.
And by the way, could Jarrett's dad's work in Iran maybe affect her view — and hence Obama's view — on Iran? She was born in Iran, after all.
And now, the communist ties to her father-in-law (emphasis mine):
Jarrett’s father-in-law, Vernon Jarrett, was also another big-time Chicago Communist, according to separate FBI files obtained by JW as part of a probe into the Jarrett family’s Communist ties. For a period of time Vernon Jarrett appeared on the FBI’s Security Index and was considered a potential Communist saboteur who was to be arrested in the event of a conflict with the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR). His FBI file reveals that he was assigned to write propaganda for a Communist Party front group in Chicago that would “disseminate the Communist Party line among…the middle class.”
Like father-in-law, like daughter-in-law. Paul Kengor has more Vernon Jarrett, who just so happened to work with Obama mentor Frank Marshall Davis (emphasis mine):
In fact, in an irony rich with symbolism, Vernon in the late 1940s had served on the Citizens’ Committee to Aid Packing-House Workers with no less than Frank Marshall Davis, a Communist Party USA member who mentored a young Barack Obama in Hawaii. The committee met at 4859 South Wabash Avenue in Chicago. Vernon Jarrett was head of the group’s publicity committee. Frank Marshall Davis was one of the chairmen. Blogger Trevor Loudon found and posted an April 12, 1948, committee document featuring both Jarrett and Davis together on the front page. “The duty of this Committee,” proclaims the document, “is to give publicity to…the plight of the workers.”
Davis was also a leftist columnist, and he and Jarrett put their pens into joint service defending Chicago’s oppressed proletariat.
In addition, Jarrett's mom, Barbara Bowman, was considered by Bill Ayers — another Obama mentor — to be a friend and neighbor.
So Jarrett's family has communist ties with Obama's communist mentors. Anybody noticing a common thread here?
When Jarrett wields this much power over the administration, and she has these kinds of ties, this would normally be cause for alarm and therefore result in further vetting from the mainstream media.
Instead, the mainstream media is too busy harping on the Confederate Flag to care much about Jarrett and her past.
