Rockville Rape Suspects Were Likely Part of Violent MS-13 Gang

Seventeen year old Jose Montano and 18-year-old Henry Sanchez, both illegal aliens charged with first degree rape of a 14-year old girl in the bathroom at Rockville High School and held without bond, were likely part of the violent transnational gang MS-13. Montano is from El Salvador and Sanchez is from Guatemala.

Sanchez was stopped by Border Patrol last year as an unaccompanied minor. He was flown by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to Maryland where his father Adolfo Sanchez-Reyes, also in the country illegally, lives. ICE arrested Sanchez-Reyes earlier this week.

MS-13 is described the by FBI as one of the most violent gangs in the world and is described as "perpetuating violence—from assaults to homicides, using firearms, machetes, or blunt objects—to intimidate rival gangs, law enforcement, and the general public. They often target middle and high school students for recruitment. And they form tenuous alliances...and sometimes vicious rivalries...with other criminal groups, depending on their needs at the time."

Northern Virginia, Maryland and other areas around Washington D.C. have experienced serious crime problems, including murder, stemming from MS-13 presence in recent years.

During the unaccompanied minor crisis of 2014, MS-13 used Border Patrol holding stations as recruitment centers.
