Game, Set, Match in Ohio?

Game, Set, Match in Ohio?
Oh my:
Ohio Senate:

Republican Rob Portman holds a 55 - 35 percent lead over Democratic Lt. Gov. Lee Fisher
among likely voters in the race for Ohio's U.S. Senate seat, while President Barack Obama has a 60 - 38 percent disapproval rating, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.

By a 58 - 37 percent margin, likely Ohio voters want a U.S. Senator who opposes President Obama's policies.

Ohio Governor:

Republican challenger John Kasich has a 54 - 37 percent lead over Democratic Gov. Ted Strickland
in the race to be Ohio's next chief state executive, with much of his lead due to overwhelming support among independent voters.

As fantastic as these Quinnipiac numbers are for Portman and Kasich, the stat that really jumps off the page to me is President Obama's 60 percent job disapproval in Ohio--fresh off the heels of his high-profile visit to the state.

Ed highlighted a similar poll earlier in the week at Hot Air, but this one is significantly worse for Dems. Time for the DGA, DSCC, DCCC to cut the Buckeye State loose?

OH!....IO!

UPDATE: Geraghty offers similar advice to national Democrats, calling these races "Ohi-over".
