House Oversight Committee Now Has 800GB of Planned Parenthood Footage

Planned Parenthood supporters have demanded Congress watch the full, unedited versions of the Center for Medical Progress's investigation, believing it will prove the pro-life group deceptively edited them. They got their wish Wednesday. House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz told the press that he is now in possession of every single minute of the videos.

Chaffetz said the footage contains nearly 800 gigabytes of data, which he said means it will take investigators "significant time to evaluate." Though recording techniques vary and make estimates difficult, that amount of data is roughly equivalent to several dozen DVDs worth of movies.

Chaffetz and the House Oversight Committee launched an investigation into Planned Parenthood after several CMP videos appeared to show the organization negotiating the sale of fetal body parts - and laughing about it.

As a result of the controversial footage, CEO Cecile Richards testified in front of the committee earlier this month and faced some difficult questions about whether Planned Parenthood still has the right to get $500 million in taxpayer money each year.

Chaffetz has set up a viewing room for members of both parties to watch the videos and judge for themselves.
