Saturday, December 16th is National Wreaths Across America Day, a day to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the line of duty. Every December, memorials are held across the nation and wreaths are laid on veterans' graves.
The idea behind the memorial is simple: every time a wreath is laid, the veteran's name is read off. Every time their name is said, their memory lives on.
People across the nation took to social media to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Over 14,000 veterans were honored at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, D.C.
