Star-Studded Cast Debuts Play Based on Mueller Report

On Monday John Lithgow, Alyssa Milano, Alfre Woodard, Annette Bening and other high-profile actors will star in a play based on the Mueller report entitled "The Investigation: A Search For The Truth in 10 Acts."

Written by Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Robert Schenkkan, the 10-act play is derived from Robert Mueller’s 448-page report on Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

The performance will be hosted and live-streamed by Law Works, an organization which seeks to educate the public “on the importance of the rule of law, the role of the special counsel in the justice system, and the integrity of our judicial institutions.”

"The play lets the facts and Mueller's words tell the story of a President who likely obstructed justice and a campaign that not only knew Russia wanted them to win, but welcomed it," said David Wade, the executive director of Law Works, to CNN.

Other stars performing include Kevin Kline, Joel Grey, Gina Gershon, Zachary Quinto, Kyra Sedgwick, Piper Perabo, Sigourney Weaver, Michael Shannon and Jason Alexander.

“Star Wars” actor Mark Hamill and “Veep” actress Julia Louis-Dreyfus also participated by recording videos for the performance

Washington, D.C., theater Arena Stage is hosting a play based on the Special Counsel's investigation as well. The 11-hour reading will cover volume II of Mueller’s report, which details his findings into possible obstruction of justice by President Trump.

Several Democratic activists and public officials are set to attend the Washington play, including former Rep. Jim Moran (D-VA), and D.C. delegate to the House of Representatives Eleanor Holmes Norton.

Liberals aren't the only ones taking material from the Mueller investigation. Two weeks ago, "FBI Loverbirds: Undercovers," a play parodying former FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page ran for one night in Washington.

Regardless of how viewers feel about Strzok and Page, or Mueller and Vladimir Putin, "The Investigation" will surely be quite the spectacle.

The performance will live-stream at 9 p.m. ET by Law Works
