Radio/TV talker Glenn Beck and his company, Mercury Radio Arts, have unveiled a new e-commerce business venture called Markdown. The site will promote both unknown and known products and offer discounts.

Special deals also will give additional discounts to consumers who share the offers with friends who make purchases.

"For every friend that buys it with your recommendation, you get an additional 10% markdown on the discounted price," the announcement said. "In other words, get ten friends and it’s yours for free."

Beck, whose Fox TV show is ending this year, promised in a letter to fans that Markdown deals will reflect the values he has promoted over the years on the radio, in his books, and on television.

“There are few things that I value more than the trust you’ve placed in me over the years. It’s something that I take very seriously,” Beck wrote.
