There Is a Case of the DNC Hiding Its Financials and the Press Is Disinterested

Low Octane Gaslighting – CNN

  • Who does he expect will believe this, seriously?!

With President Trump set to deliver a primetime address tonight, many on the Left are scurrying and worrying about the promised information to be delivered regarding voting integrity. Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) seems rather perturbed about it ahead of time.

CNN expert contributor and former Obama administration official David Axelrod also seems bothered, as he has a rather insipid claim about his former boss and the relationship with the media. 

Yes, if there is anything to remember about the Obama years it was how hesitant the press was to cover anything involving their favored president.


Both Kinds Of Standards – CNN

  • Cannot help but notice what does NOT get interrupted.

There was a bitter exchange seen on the Abby Phillip nightly cage match – YES, again…

This time it was Charles Blow becoming intemperate with Lydia Moynihan, and he was at his condescending best. Note that as he tritely refers to her as a “child” (Lydia is in her 30s), he also delivers a line that is, for him, typically void of common sense.

  • I'm here because Abby’s Show invited me here. And I have been in journalism for a very long time. 

That’s the way, Charles! Hit her with your work record!

But this is a rather daft argument to make, given that the young Lydia, by virtue of being seated on the panel, was ALSO invited to be in the studio alongside him.


News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • You just get the sense that had this been a GOP decision, it would garner quite a bit of attention.

In a classic example of shielding one party by downplaying bad news, we have a curious note coming from the offices of the Democratic National Committee.

Credit to Axios for running this one, as few other news outlets seem interested. DNC Chairman Ken Martin is requiring the members who are attending meetings about the party's financials to sign Non-Disclosure Agreements. He probably was hoping to stem the release of the dire money situation his party is facing, the numbers of which Axios provided:

  • The DNC has nearly $15 million on hand but is $18 million in debt, according to its latest campaign finance filings through the end of May. The RNC has $125 million on hand and no debt.


Glossary Over Things – THE WHITE HOUSE

  • We think there might need to be a clarification on that label.

Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt was back at the podium in the White House briefing room, following her break after giving birth. She was right back to her former routine, including opening the presser by giving the first question to a member of the “new media”. But there might be a bit of a stretch on that definition.

Today it was Rachael Bade who was called on, from the D.C. Huddle, and this raises questions. Can Bade be considered “new” media, given she hails from Politico, where she ran the Playbook for some time?


Reporting On The Mirror – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

  • Inskeep may have a point, given he brought him on the show…???

Bill Maher sat in for an interview with the longtime host on NPR, Steve Inskeep. Maher lets him have it directly, telling the host that NPR has changed over the years and that he now regards the outlet as very left-wing.

Inskeep is rather flustered by this and attempts to laugh off the charge, all while the comedian/host Maher does not crack a smile and continues to lay into the outlet as a biased source.
