The only thing Democrats hate more than people who won’t obey them is the idea of paying their own way for things. They love “giving away” (READ: taking under threat of prison and spent on their friends and supporters) other people’s money. I think anyone could be the world’s greatest philanthropist if they had Elon Musk’s credit card to run it off of. The problem comes in when they have to do something on their own dime, that they hate. They go from forcing people to live a certain way to begging for a dollar.
I’m not talking about campaign cash begging, though they love that more than they like their kids, I’m talking about their “legal defense funds” and all other manner of scam fundraising liberals engage in for the sake of avoiding having to reach into their own pockets for the basics in life.
Remember at the end of the 90s when Bill and Hillary Clinton started a legal defense fund to cover the cost of defending themselves and deflecting eyes from their dozens of scandals? They claimed to be poor, and they technically were on paper, but were months away from leaving office and the huge piles of cash waiting for them. Book deals, speaking gigs, board seats, “non-profits” and all the other ways in which they elevated their net worth to the point that they could roll with super-rich friends like Harvey Weinstein and Jeffrey Epstein.
The Clintons didn’t offer refunds to suckers once they were able to hammer seven and eight figure checks. They just didn’t want to pay the bills their actions racked up themselves.
Most politicians who find themselves under investigation set up these funds because it’s much more fun to shrug off responsibility than it is to take care of it.
But now, we’re moving from the failed politician funds to the failed wannabe candidate fund.
You probably don’t know who Kat Abughazaleh is because you haven’t spent your days huffing paint. She’s a former flying monkey at Media Matters who ran for the Democratic Party’s nomination for a House seat in Illinois. She’s about as anti-American and anti-Semitic as you can imagine, but she’s a moderately attractive woman – a California 6 – so progressive gooners drool like she’d give them the time of day, even though she wouldn’t if her job were being a clock.
Her bid, fully sponsored by then MSNBC and CNN, failed miserably. But during the campaign she got arrested for assaulting ICE agents at “protest,” as was the fashion at the time. It was great PR for her and she milked it like a cow. Well, now the piper is demanding to be paid.
Good PR that involves lawyers can quickly turn into bankruptcy if you have nothing to sell. Once Kat lost her bid, campaign donations dried up – funny how that happens when there’s no campaign. OnlyFans, apparently, being off the table, she’s turned to begging.
“Justice Democrats,” the socialist wing of the party, allowed Kat to use their sucker list, er, donor list, to try to raise money for her lawyers, scrambling to insulate her from the legal consequences of her actions.
“I’m the journalist and researcher who recently ran for Congress in Illinois’ 9th district with the help of Justice Democrats. We didn’t win our primary, but thanks to grassroots momentum from people like you, neither did AIPAC’s candidate,” the email opens, “I’m coming to you now to ask for your support again at a difficult time. In October 2025, I – along with my field director and friend Andre Martin and four other individuals – was indicted for my advocacy and protest against ICE and the Trump administration.”
Then comes the funny part. “Even though we plan on winning (emphasis added), the two of us are facing up to $250,000 in legal debt, along with the immense stress and pressure the last six months has put on us and our loved ones. Yes, that is how much cases like this can cost — and honestly, it’s at the low end of the spectrum, especially for two separate incredible legal teams.”
They “plan on winning”? What a novel legal idea!
She continues, “But that’s the point of lawfare like this: for the government to be able to scare us into silence through not just possible jail time but financial and psychological torture.”
Yeah, welcome to a giant dose of your own media, lady.
At the end she concludes, “All contributions will go to our legal defense, personal debt accrued over the past 6 months in an effort to pay our lawyers.” Personal debt? Like clothes for court? Nice lunches where you discuss strategy? Is there anything that can’t be claimed to meet that criteria?
Liberals love sticking Americans with the bills for their bad ideas, and they love milking suckers for the cost of their other activities. There’s a better way: don’t fight federal agents in the first place. Crazy, I know!
