The Era of the Big Beautiful Bill Is Here

The passage of the Big Beautiful Bill will be a jolt unleashing further American prosperity and has further cemented President Trump’s legacy not only as a leader but also as a master legislator.

With the Big Beautiful Bill President Trump took a risk bigger than President Reagan with the Economic Recovery Tax Act of 1981 in both size and scope. The Big Beautiful Bill was akin to Lyndon Johnson staking his Presidency on passing President Kennedy’s Civil Rights Act. Like Johnson and Reagan, President Trump gambled most everything to win early in his term (the non-consecutive term essentially akin to starting over after the disastrous Biden era).

The Reagan and Kennedy/Johnson bills, while very important, were focused on a single respective issue.  The Big Beautiful Bill positively affects not just one issue or aspect of American society but many.

A major portion of the Big Beautiful Bill is that it puts money back in the hands of hardworking Americans. The Trump tax cuts of 2017 have been made permanent (until some future leftist President tries to undue them) and increases the standard income tax deduction by $1000 for single filers and $2,000 for married couples. The standard deduction for individuals 65 and over has increased to $4,000 until the end of the Trump Presidency. The child tax credit has been increased and there is no tax on overtime except for those with high incomes.

Adults without children who receive Medicaid now have a work requirement of 80 hours a month, equivalent to less than 20 hours a week.

The defense budget has been increased by 150 billion dollars to meet threats at home (border) and abroad.  The amount of detention facilities for illegal aliens will nearly double and there will be a large increase in the number of law enforcement officers working to combat those who are cutting ahead of others in the immigration system. A large measure of defense spending includes shipbuilding (i.e. Far East) to the tune of 28 billion dollars, Golden Dome Missile Defense (24 billion), and nuclear weaponry.

If these landmark items, each of which normally could have been a piece of single legislation, had failed it could have spelled trouble for the Trump Presidency. Instead, President Trump elevated the stakes and dealt with several key national issues at once. It could have doomed the upcoming midterms long before they formally started, yet instead the President risked it alland won.

This should not be surprising as taking risks has been the hallmark of the life of Donald Trump from his earliest days in the business world. In fact, he risked not only his business livelihood but his reputation, the safety of his family, his personal freedom and even his life for this country and its people.

Whatever anyone wants to say about Donald Trump that is a very admirable and courageous way to live.

But with this prosperity comes a warning, for ourselves as Conservatives and as others. First, there is the temptation in such prosperity to lose our spiritual values and Christian virtue that have sustained, and yes saved, America as a nation. There is more to our nation than just money, yet our wealth keeps people out of poverty and gives them greater choice to use all of their God given talents to the fullest.

More so, we cannot be complacent with the left. Their drive for government power and state planning in every facet of American life, from cradle to grave, shows no signs of ceasing. At they very least they will seek to end the Trump tax cuts in order to pay for their socialism. They talk a game but it was President Trump who protected vulnerable seniors and those in tip/overtime heavy fields of work.

Some of our newly found cash and the sense of freedom that goes with it may be well spent in continuing to defeat the radical socialist menace.

Until then, Thank you President Trump!
