Anti-Social Media – CNN

  • Just Scott Jennings continuing to intolerantly insist on delivering facts.

If you need any more evidence that Scott Jennings is the avatar for conservatives in media, he was on yet another hostile CNN panel and was discussing the condition of Xitter these days. He was countering the narrative that Xitter has become an intolerant, right-wing hellhole, and he pointed out that it was probably the most balanced platform based on the users.

Others on the panel disputed his claim, dismissively, while they were ignorant of the fact this had been reported on by their very own network.

Pre-Written Field Reports – ABC NEWS

  • When ambush journalism is attempted while unarmed.

Nancy Mace has plenty of people outraged that she is pushing a bathroom bill in the Congress that the bathrooms cannot be cross-accessed by trans individuals. When she was outside the Capitol, watch as ABC News Reporter Jay O’Brien raced up to challenge Mace on her proposed bill. O’Brien was filled with accusatory questions that Mace was targeting her bill toward one person, but Mace is having none of his nonsense (would it accurately be described as “guff,” in this instance?) and she shut O’Brien down in deft fashion.

DNC PR Firm – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • This sounds so much like the lab leak theory being racist.

During the Joe Biden years, he has made it a signature item of his agenda to attack Donald Trump with the DOJ. There has been no shortage of defense/denials in the press that this has taken place, but something about four separate indictments presents a strong counterpoint. But it is notable to see in The New York Times an editorial that blithely makes the point that stopping Donald Trump legally was, in fact, the entire point.

Law Professor Samuel Moyn of Yale University spells out cleanly that the denied purpose of the indictments was to defeat Trump in the election. We guess that admitting it is the first step:

The yearslong effort to vanquish Donald Trump in court was a dismal failure. The more uncomfortable truth is that our search for political salvation primarily through the law has backfired.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – NBC NEWS

  • Just buy those dinner fixings, and stop complaining!

The insistence in the press that you are not suffering at the grocery checkout counter continues, this time from NBC. The fiscal wizards there are looking over the shopping tally for Thanksgiving goods and try to tell us that not only are food prices lower, they are “historically” lower.

The first problem is that three years ago is being dubbed “historically.” They achieve this by then applying the rarely used metric of “adjusting for inflation.” They also need to ignore the “historic” reality that when compared to the pre-Biden era, prices are contemporarily higher.

Legalized Press-titution – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • When this was done in the recording industry it was a nationwide scandal.

Payola is a bit of an archaic term these days, given how commonplace graft has become. Current case in point is the Washington Examiner finding that two national teachers entities – the American Federation of Teachers (AFT) and the National Education Association – have been paying off a number of news outlets in exchange for favorable news coverage. These involve The New Republic, American Prospect, and The Courier Newsroom.

That last name belongs to the Democratic Party fabricated syndicate of sites positioned as regional news outlets, which are called “pink slime journalism.” This is because the sites are set up to resemble a local news source, with some regional coverage peppered in to look legitimate, while delivering pro-party propaganda.

Close friend of Kamala Harris, Laurene Jobs (who also owns The Atlantic) was a primary financial backer to get this outfit operational.

Reporting on the Mirror – AXIOS

  • The temerity of that man to be accurate!

As the press continues to spin out of control while facing a growing state of invalidation, a rather descriptive episode plays out. Recently, when assessing the fallout from the election being how so many these days get their news and information from independent sources and social media, Elon Musk came out with a terse conclusion: “We are the media now.”

In a revealing reaction at a conference for media heads to tell each other how important they remain, Axios co-founder Jim VandeHei had an angry and heated reaction to Musk speaking those five words. It is a rather amusing dose of a lack of self-awareness.
