Low-Octane Gaslighting – THE ATLANTIC

  • Just the voices who posture about “misinformation” engaging in election interference.

In today’s explosive dose of journalism malpractice comes a “report” that Donald Trump offered to cover the funeral expenses of a fallen soldier, but when notified of the actual expense he raged about it, and supposedly invoked racial epithets about the female heroine.

The remarkable thing is that when first seeing the contents, one thought came to mind — this sounds like a Jeffrey Goldberg garbage hit piece all over again. Annnnd — guess what…

Goldberg goes right back to his methodology of his infamously roundly disproven claim Trump called fallen soldiers “suckers and losers” for getting killed. Once again, he cites unnamed sources, but this time he is being countered instantly.

Supposedly, Trump said these things to Mark Meadows, and the former administration figure disputes the story concerning the conversation he was involved in.

More egregious is that the fallen soldier’s sister has come forward to also refute the claims, and states that Trump has treated their family with highest order of respect.

This is simply pure trash on the part of Goldberg. No reason at all to even link to his bile.

Presentation Paradox – CNN

CNN joins in with the pushing of false stories about the abortion laws in the country, following suit with other false claims. In this latest example of the top campaign policy issue for Democrats being amplified in the press with misinformation (there’s that word again), CNN claims that since the Dobbs decision infant mortality rates in the country have risen sharply. There’s a problem in this presentation: The Facts.

The dodge in this is the way CNN is presenting this supposed rise in the mortality rate; it is higher than projected estimates, but NOT an overall rise. In other words, they anticipated a bigger drop:

In the year and a half following the Supreme Court Dobbs decision that revoked the federal right to an abortion, hundreds more infants died than expected in the United States, new research shows. They found that infant mortality was higher than usual in the US in several months after the Dobbs decision and never dropped to rates that were lower than expected.

That is a significant departure from the headline they pushed out with this study result.

Legalized Press-titution – CBS NEWS

  • Kamala’s spokespeople might be nervous that Norah is taking their jobs!

As we hit the homestretch of the campaign and desperation is rising daily in the press, the journalists are dropping the pretense of objectivity like it is 3rd period Latin. In the CBS News update on the campaign trail, Norah O’Donnell updates what the two candidates are up to.

She opens with Kamala Harris working marvelously in the states she needs to win and the glorious way she is backed by Liz Cheney. Then without taking a breath, she moves to Trump. He is described with “False claims,” “Crude insult at Harris,” “Lewd locker room talk,” and “Staging a campaign stunt.”

Pulitzer Prize Nomination – THE NEW YORK TIMES

To say the Donald Trump visit to McDonald’s (Norah’s “campaign stunt”) has the press completely unspun is an understatement. They have been unhinged over this lark of a trolling move by Trump, and The New York Times shamed itself further. It went to the length of sending a journalist out to half a dozen locations in New York City to have fry cooks analyze the footage from Sunday and had them criticize what it was Trump did incorrectly. Yes, The Times actually went to this level of reporting.

Prose & Contradiction – CNN

  • Brian, you should see a doctor about your inability to turn to the left.

Among those alleged journalists leaning even further left as the election approaches is Brian Stelter. The man who is supposed to be a media analyst cannot seem to look at the balance of the press industry, just those seen right of center.

In looking over the McDonald’s story, there is more than a hint of desperation seen as he manages to insist that only those on the right are making this a three-day story, and that claims of liberals losing their minds is fabricated – despite all the media evidence to the contrary.
