News Avoidance Syndrome – MSNBC
We’ll just pretend this is normal, is that the play here?
Over the past few weeks, we have heard many people speculating about where Joe Biden has been, and who is actually running the country. Well…that kind of talk is only going to continue, as a Cabinet meeting was held in the White House. This itself is a novel event, as it has been about a year since the last one. This one, however, was not held by Joe, and Kamala Harris was unavailable as she was busy hanging out with Oprah.
So, Dr. First Lady Mrs. Joe Biden sat at the head of the table and ran the show. And MSNBC reacted as if this was completely normal, and we should not ask a single question about this appearance.

Reporting on the Mirror – CNN
So she is lying about the displayed texts, Mr. Expert Analyst?
A few weeks back we covered how an appearance on CNN saw Nancy Mace being targeted with charges of “racism” because some of the panelists accused her of intolerantly mispronouncing the name of Kamala Harris. One of her accusers was Michael Eric Dyson, and it appears that Professor Dyson was being rather performative, as he was clearly less antagonistic with Rep. Mace in text format, where he was expressly flirting with the Republican congresswoman.

Rep. Mace was not overly pleased, given the fact that she entered into the congressional record the texts from Dyson. This has sent Dyson off into a rage, accusing her of lying and of being a racist, while using decidedly racist language in doing so. These denials seem to also be performative, given Mace has supplied screenshots showing his overtures.

Legalized Press-titution – NEW YORK MAGAZINE
Word broke last night of another scandalous (possibly) involvement with another journalist. New York Magazine announced that Olivia Nuzzi has been pulled off of campaign work and has taken a leave of absence following a revelation she has had some sort of involvement with Robert Kennedy Jr. In carefully worded explanations, it is referred to as a “personal relationship,” sounding as if it may be something other than a physical affair. But the fact that the outlet has taken this action indicates it was certainly at some inappropriate level.
Not to delve too deeply into the salacious, but it is quite significant that an outlet decides to take this step with one of its star journalists. pic.twitter.com/EC2PdMXZiK

Pathological Media Amnesia – NEW YORK MAGAZINE
Um, yeah, about that…
Making this move slightly into the mirthful zone, there is this old post and article that Ms. Nuzzi penned regarding the way Hollywood portrays female journalists. As the kids say, this aged like cottage cheese forgotten in the trunk of the car.
Just a tad ironic how Olivia Nuzzi is suspended for the very thing she claimed was a trope invented by Hollywood. pic.twitter.com/976dltk70v

First Amendment Strike Force – GAVIN NEWSOM
So what you are saying is that you WANT to be slammed by AI memes…?
In a deeply disturbing move, California’s Governor Gavin Newsom has signed a bill that will criminalize the use of parody and satire. In a decision rooted in a parody video regarding Kamala Harris and Joe Biden, the bill addresses supposedly misleading commercials and content and initially would have made an exception for satire. He had that particular exemption stricken and then signed the bill, which makes mocking humor of politicians illegal.
He has, understandably, been flooded with content of this very nature.
I just signed a bill to make this illegal in the state of California.

Body-Checking the Fact-Checkers – POLITIFACT
How accurate does something need to be to avoid a FALSE rating?
PolitiFact is addressing a recent claim from Tony Perkins, president of the Family Research Council, who noted that in many states, babies are born alive following abortions and allowed to expire. In Tim Walz’s Minnesota, this was a prevalent reality to such an extent that he rewrote the abortion legislation to alter the language of what steps are taken as well as to alter the requirement in reporting when these incidents occur.
However, the "fact-checking outlet" has a spokesperson who falls back on the statement that infanticide is illegal. Uh-huh, yes – but this does not in any way mean that these births don't take place. Also used here is the tired and not-at-all-disproving argument that these incidents are not commonplace: “Experts said cases in which babies are born following an abortion attempt are rare.”
We feel it is odd to become this pedantic with the truth experts, but the use of “rare” indicates that it does take place, ergo this becomes a factual statement being made – yet, PolitiFact still rates the claim as FALSE.
We also add that if there are rare cases of a child surviving an abortion, it indicates that the abortion has taken place as a late-term procedure, another claim that the left says is not practiced.
The anti-abortion organization Family Research Council claimed some states have no legal protections for children “born alive after a failed abortion.” Legal experts said this is false; infanticide is illegal in every state. https://t.co/eEVzlFDb5h
