First Amendment Strike Force – HARRIS-WALZ CAMPAIGN

It has become something of a pathetic joke the way that neither Kamala Harris nor her running mate want to communicate with the press. They have combined for a solitary interview this whole time, and their reticence to be heard is becoming even worse.

At a campaign stop in Pennsylvania, Tim Walz was meeting with some locals, and the attending press was not granted any air time. When the media were attempting to get questions called out to the veep candidate, the handlers shut them down, with Walz refusing to even acknowledge the gathered reporters.

A local Pittsburgh reporter detailed just how much the media were held at bay. Seriously, they should collectively turn off all the cameras and not even arrive at the next event. Then you will see just how eager this troupe will be to entertain the press.

Presentation Paradox – CNN

At CNN, Andy Kaczynski has collected yet another 180 performed by Kamala regarding her past positions. The lady just a few years ago decried Trump's border wall project and didn't merely say it was a bad idea. Her description was that Trump's wall violated the values of this nation.

Now, since the border is among those albatross issues Harris needs to shed, she is not only positioning herself as a border hawk, but she is using images of Trump's accursed wall in her campaign ads. It is one of the more remarkable turnarounds regarding her policy positions, but you may not realize this from watching Andrew's network. As Curtis Houck of Newsbusters has discovered, Kaczynski's exposé has been shown on the air exactly once, and then essentially memory-holed.

News Avoidance Syndrome – VARIOUS OUTLETS

  • We swear, that Putin feller has the WORST timing!

Well now, just as the press has been gearing up to rejuvenate the Russian election meddling narrative, here comes the Communist leader to mess things up for the press! As we mentioned yesterday, it appears that the groundwork is being laid to re-establish the talking point that Putin and Russia are going to be meddling with our democracy – a sure sign that the internal polling for Harris is not going well, at all.

But now there is a slight snag in this script: Vlad Putin has come out to declare he would like to see Kamala take the victory in November. (Insert RECORD SCRATCH sound effect → here.)

Anti-Social Media – TENET MEDIA

  • This is not going to help matters, at all.

A new Justice Department announcement revealed that charges will be brought against a pair from the Russian Times for funding a conservative media outlet with the intention of manipulating opinion and narratives in this country. Though not named directly in the indictment documents, it is easily determined that the entity is Tennessee-based Tenet Media. What is unclear is exactly the level of influence this Russian involvement had, despite the fact some prominent names are associated with Tenet.

Dave Rubin, Tim Pool, Benny Johnson, and Lauren Southern, among others, are said to have been part of the Tenet network, but how much they were a part of a grander scheme is yet unclear. What appears to have been in play, at least to some extent, is that established names had some of their content syndicated by Tenet in a possible bid to boost its image and appear more legitimate. Rubin, for example, had one of his lighter side ventures licensed by the site. Pool has indicated that he had a long-running venture that was picked up by Tenet as well.

Stealth Story Evolution – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

  • Research after reporting is certainly one way to go about committing journalism...

It has become rather pedantic to note, yet still vital to point out, that the press has a tendency to lash out reflexively at comments made by Donald Trump. It has frequently been seen that a journalist will dispute something said by Trump only to have it be shown that the man was correct. Journalists will then reframe a story or declare how his words amounted to an “attack” or fact-checkers will import other items to “add context” and then judge the error of his words.

In the latest, we have NPR election correspondent Danielle Kurtzleben who was taking on Trump’s commenting on the issue of the Venezuelan gang members who were reported to have taken over portions of Aurora, Colorado.

Danielle began by impugning Trump for repeating a story that had not been backed by evidence. The irony was that Kurtzleben was later provided more media evidence that substantiated the story. This led to a deletion and alteration in her next assessment of Trump's comments.

Race to the Bottom – THE ATLANTIC

  • Just because he didn’t act racist does not mean he WASN’T racist!

Leave it to Jemele Hill to always find the racism in a moment – even when no racism is evident. No, see – she can divine the racism in an individual, even in the absence of actual evidence.

This week, there has been much in the way of amusement in Kamala Harris giving a speech in Detroit and affecting a deeply curious and comical accent when addressing the gathered crowd. At the White House, correspondent Peter Doocy asked Karine Jean-Pierre about this speech choice by Harris. Ms. Hill, looking over this question from Doocy, where he described it as a “Southern accent,” declares that she knows what Doocy wanted to say, implying that he really wanted to say something racist.

Then she basically turns racist in stating what white people do not know and follows that up by essentially confirming that Harris used a black accent – which means that Doocy (had he actually used that term) would have been accurate after all, and thus would not have been racist. Unless…he would be deemed to be racist for agreeing with Jemele, which by her warped racial standards would be completely expected.
