The Democrats’ Transformation of America, Part Two

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

History is a process, not an event. While every act is obviously a “single” event, to grasp the flow and results of history, those individual happenings must be understood within their context. Rome didn’t rise in a day, and it didn’t fall in a day.  Historians attempt to examine certain actions and principles in the “processes” that produce historical results. Since “the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” any attempt to comprehend history that isn’t built upon that foundation will inevitably lead to errant conclusions. This is the major reason why Leftism is wrong about nearly everything it espouses.

The current Democratic Party is a Leftist organization. We know that by comparing it with other Leftist organizations around the world that have arisen in the last 200+ years. Its rejection of religion for a naturalistic, materialistic based universe, its belief in ethical subjectivism, its conviction that totalitarian government is the highest form of authority and such government, not God, is the solution to all of humanity’s problems, its trust in human, not divine, wisdom, its acceptance of socialism, not the free market, as an economic system—all of these are cardinal ideas of modern Leftism.

As I noted in my previous column, the Democratic Party—the leadership thereof—is attempting to transform America into a country based on the Leftist principles noted above. Such a system failed in the Soviet Union, but it is still in existence in China—the Democratic Party’s model. The contrast between traditional American values, which are based upon the historical ideals of Western Civilization, the Declaration of Independence, and the Constitution, with modern Democratic Party Leftism is a total dichotomy in the source of human freedom: to traditional Americans, our freedoms are “natural,” we are “endowed” with them from God, and they must be protected from tyrannical government. Rights come from God, not government. But modern Leftism, as embodied in the People’s Republic of China and America’s Democratic Party, believes that, since there is no God to give us our rights, they can thus only come from government. And what government gives, government can take away.

I saw this first-hand in the ten years I lived in China. Yes, people there have the “freedom” to go out to eat, watch (government-approved) movies, even go to (government-controlled) churches. But these rights are granted by government, they are not “natural.” I was forced by the government to leave China because, even though I wanted to stay at my job, and the school where I taught wanted me to stay, I was not free to make a joint contract with that school; the government robbed both myself and the school of the freedom to join into a mutually beneficial contract. My rights in China, and more importantly, the Chinese school’s rights, came from government, and neither of us had any protection therefrom. The people of Taiwan will soon discover, as the people of Hong Kong did a few years ago, that they do not have the right, according to the CCP, to elect their own leaders and have the form of government they wish. Force, not freedom, rules in China, because that is what Leftism believes—government has all power.

The Democratic Party wishes to establish that system in America. They have not done so yet, because patriotic Americans have, so far, been able to thwart them. But that is their goal. They are in the historical “process” of attempting to establish a CCP-type government in America, and only the future will determine if they will be successful or not. It cannot happen in a day; it never does. It took Mao Zedong several decades to build his communist movement in China, and it further required a civil war for him to conquer the country. After he gained power, he continued to oppress and kill anyone who opposed his totalitarian rule. In every country, there are people who want to be free from tyranny, and the oppressors must deal with them in whatever means necessary.

We can perceive in the Democratic Party the kinds of things seen in the Communist Party of China as it gained, and now exercises, total power. The Democrats are using government—in this case the power of the judicial system—to attempt to silence Donald Trump. Other “traditional” Americans are already in jail, or will soon be. And, of course, the Leftists will do it to anyone they deem an “enemy” if they can get away with it.

Further, the Left has launched a vicious onslaught against traditional American religious values through the homosexual, abortion, and transgender movements. Religion must be crushed, or at best, made totally subservient to the government. In addition, there is the deliberate influx of illegals—people who are not Americans and who know nothing about republican institutions or limited government that is so crucial to historical American values. Create and produce citizens who will become subservient to, and dependent upon, the state, and will thus do whatever they are told. Though China didn’t immigrate their people, a submissive populous is the aim.

Furthermore, the creation of societal chaos through rising crime rates, racial discord, and moral degeneracy will produce a condition that (like in a civil war) will eventually require the strong hand of government to step in and set things aright. It is all deliberate and planned.

Other matters could be mentioned but this is representative. The Democratic Party is in the historical process of trying to bring Leftist totalitarianism to America. The historical signs are all there.

We are in another Cold War with the Left, the forces of freedom versus the forces of totalitarianism. This time, however, the battle is within our own shores. Freedom doesn’t always win these battles, and it won’t win this time if enough Americans remain ignorant or apathetic to what is happening.
