Anti-Social Media – MEDIA MATTERS FOR AMERICA

  • There is something about a petard that suddenly seems apt.

The announcement came out today: Folks at Media Matters – the outlet that has long been pledged to take down and otherwise de-platform Fox News and conservative sites – announced that layoffs have taken place at the left-wing smear factory.

Matching Media Memorandum – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • The media who love throwing flags around are suddenly triggered by flags?

After days spent wailing that Justice Samuel Alito once displayed an inverted American flag at his home, now The Times gets in on the flag-waving outrage. It took three reporters to build up the story that at a vacation home in New Jersey, Alito also had flown the Appeal To Heaven flag.

GASP!

This gets described by the geniuses at the Paper Of Record as a January 6 emblem, minimizing the fact that it is a 250-year-old emblem created for George Washington. NAH! It's an insurrectionist symbol now!

NEW: Last summer, the Alito beach home in New Jersey flew the "Appeal to Heaven" flag, which, like the upside-down US flag, is linked to Jan. 6. We have photos from July, August, and September, as well as eyewitnesses.

Matching this hysterical idiocy is Peter Baker, who described this as "another provocative flag." There is no mention from Baker recently about the non-provocative removal of the Stars and Stripes from college campus flagpoles, being replaced by the Palestinian flag.

Pathological Media Amnesia – MSNBC

  • Okay, so we call anyone pimping coffee pathetic, is that the message, Joe?

On the left-fringe network's morning program, the crew took it upon themselves to mock the idea of Rudy Giuliani putting out his own brand of coffee. There was much mockery tossed around, discussing his financial woes and how far he had fallen to do this level of promotion.

Of course, not brought up in the panel of snark is how this very program has its own history of hawking Starbucks, with its own branded tie-in. That, we have to assume, was not mockable and pathetic.

Demo-lition Project – CNN

  • Pretty soon the only bragging point will be from a dead cat bounce.

There is a new CEO, it is election season, and there is that extremely hot Donald Trump court case that everyone is simply obsessed with, taking place at the same time. This has to be a gold rush for the cable news networks!

Well…

Over at the third-place-and-dropping once-formidable juggernaut CNN, it just encountered the worst viewing numbers in the demographic since the 1990s.

Race to the Bottom – MSNBC

  • When Chapter 11 is a sign of intolerance.

We are basically conditioned to ignore this wrinkle in the bad news cycle; anytime something dire breaks, we get told that minority groups are hit especially hard; pollution, inflation, unemployment, global-climate-change-environmental-warming, and more.

But – restaurants closing?

MSNBC informs us that the recent announcement of Red Lobster going into bankruptcy proceedings and closing up to 100 locations "hits differently for black communities."
