Both Kinds of Standards – MSNBC
It is not at all dangerous when they do it.
Let's look back wistfully on the times we have been lectured about how dangerous speech and violent rhetoric from the right is always promised to deliver reactions of people lashing out in violent fashion.
Now, let's look at today, as Jen Psaki casually calls for the death of Donald Trump, and nary a reporter or journalist is flung prostrate across a fainting couch over what this may inspire.
Jen Psaki on Morning Joe: "Maybe Donald Trump will go away. Maybe he'll go to jail. Maybe he will die. Not to be too morbid. But maybe. He's not a young man."

Can we just come out and call this a "Fascist Dog Whistle"?
Getting into some of the weekend leftovers, on MSNBC, they interviewed Tara Setmayer of The Lincoln Project, because that is a reputable source for this network. Tara was addressing (what else?) the doom of what a Trump term would lead to. She then invoked some more of the veiled promise of violence or other forms of forceful elimination if he takes office:
Plain and simple: these are Vichy Republicans. And for the historians out there, they will appreciate what happened to the Vichys during World War II.
The Vichys were the political Nazis put in place in France, who were later executed after the fall of the Third Reich. So now we have entered this fractured prism of the MSNBC looking glass – if reelected, Trump will execute his opponents, AND the party leadership will ultimately be executed as well?
Yes…things are going just swell over there at MSNBC.
The Republican Party is putting themselves over their country, principle, and free and fair elections and democracy. They absolutely know how deranged and unfit Donald Trump is to be president, but they don't care. @TaraSetmayer explains the malignancy of Trumpism on @MSNBC. pic.twitter.com/h5sM6sCxQG

DNC PR Firm – NBC NEWS
The need to proactively confirm results that have not even taken place is a rather desperate corner to place someone.
Tim Scott appeared on "Meet the Press," and hostess Kristen Welker challenged the South Carolina senator on election results. Not on any voting that has concluded, but on the general election vote taking place in half a year. As ridiculous as it is to force someone to confirm a vote that has not even taken place, Welker badgered Scott with the question six times.
This would be a great question to ask of Democrats – and for that matter, most of the press – should Trump emerge as the victor in November, but, of course, this is a challenge never made of Democrats, even as the Biden administration has stated it is taking steps to have a lawyer battalion ready to go if it suspects there are election irregularities.

So Jon understands it is a trite and pedantic claim, BUT THIS TIME, he really means it!
On Sunday, Jon Karl delivered yet another unbiased and nonpartisan lecture about why Donald Trump cannot become president once again. Echoing his anti-Trump book releases, Karl explained to his audience what November represents as far as the fortunes of this country.
It is all doom, of course, should Trump retake the White House, but all the more amusing is how Karl lapses into the cliché heard from the left EVERY - SINGLE - ELECTION.
The difference is that all those other times it really was not so bad, but this election it is totally completely entirely serious! He swears it!
For as long as I've covered politics, politicians have said, “this will be the most important election of our lifetimes.” They said that, no matter how high or low the stakes actually were. Election Day 2024 is exactly six months from today and this time, the divisions in our country are so vast and the choice so stark there's little doubt this really is the most important election of our time. No more crying wolf. This. Is

We're sorry, WHAT is in its fourth week?
On the topic of violent words, do you recall weeks back when Donald Trump was raked over the coals for using the violently inciteful term "bloodbath"? Well, Catherine Rampell does not remember.

Presentation Paradox – ASSOCIATED PRESS
Calling someone something makes you that thing, it seems.
It was last November when the press coordinated with the claim Trump was invoking Nazi terminology when he dared use a solitary word — "Vermin." The stupidity was lowered further (Fuhrer?) when it was pointed out that he was describing communists and fascists with that word. So he was a Nazi for decrying Nazis.
In that same stunted fashion, we now have the AP saying Trump used a "reference to Nazi Germany." He was, in fact, declaring that the Biden administration was behaving like the Gestapo.

Low-Octane Gaslighting – REUTERS
It has been seven months now gang – can you not find any better source from the area yet?!
For a time, there was a false story floating around that Hamas had agreed to a ceasefire agreement offered by Israel, and then the Israelis decided to ignore it and instead begin its incursion into the city of Rafah. Except, this never actually happened. Hamas came out with its own version of a ceasefire deal, one never agreed to by Israel and just as likely never had been offered or seen.
Yet, Reuters presents this agitprop created by Hamas as if it were verifiable facts. One hopes at some point these stories blowing up in their faces will cause them to begin researching the claims sent to them by their preferred sources.
(Reuters) - Hamas agreed to the latest proposal that Israel had made on April 27 and there were no major changes since then, an official briefed on the ceasefire talks said, adding the Qatari mediators had spoken to Hamas about this on Sunday and Monday.
