Anti-Social Media – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO/

  • So those taking a stand against misinformation hate it when accurate facts are delivered?

While not a surprise, it is nonetheless a jarring move. Bari Weiss reports that Uri Berliner, the senior editor of @NPR who exposed the internal bias at the network, has now been suspended. They had a choice to take his words to heart and look internally at fixing their problems, but instead chose to eliminate the man they perceive as causing them problems.

Pounce of Prevention – THE NEW YORK TIMES

  • Those damned conservatives, noticing her own posts!

As the NPR melodrama continues to unfurl, the new CEO of the network is coming under focus, Katherine Maher has been caught in a controversy as a resulkt of Berliner’s expose’, and now her social media past has been explored. Her posts are seen consistently positioned from a left-wing perspective, with a collection of posts concerning her own white guilt, climate change, and every other liberal checkbox topic, including visceral hatred of Donald Trump.

The New York Times details that Maher’s posts have become a hot topic in social media, and their assessment is - of course - that the content of her posts is not the concern, but that people on the right are seeing her own words that she voluntarily put on a public forum.

Legalized Press-titution – NATIONAL PUBLIC RADIO

  • The lack of concern over this in the broader media spectrum is the real issue.

Among the posts from Katherine Maher deserving of attention is this one in particular.

Now by itself this may or may not be a piece of concern. But when placed in balance with her other numerous left-wing dispatches (including pushing for ideological censorship) this takes on a larger meaning.

Here is all you need to ask regarding this image: Were any CEO of a news network caught on camera wearing a red MAGA hat, what would the press reaction be?

Democratic Custodial Services – THE ATLANTIC

When things are looking bad for Joe Biden there is one thing we can count on; True Conservative™ David Frum will find a way to blame it on Republicans. This weekend we saw Iran threatening to attack Israel. This was met with feckless responses from Joe Biden, who managed to verbally shake a finger at Iran before ducking out for a vacation, leading to Iran attacking. Then came reports of Joe belly-aching that Israel was dragging the US into a conflict – by, being attacked?

Well this looked completely inept, so here come Mr. Frum with the explanation for everything – those damned Republicans in Congress are to blame! How?, you might ask. Well, it is all because they are not allowing Biden to deliver snow shovels of cash to Ukraine, you see:

Republicans took control of the House in January 2023. Since then, Congress has refused any further aid to Ukraine. President Joe Biden asked for a fifth package in August 2023. No action. Biden asked again in October 2023. Again, nothing.

Hey, at least it is not being said this is Trump’s fault…this time.

No, wait - we jumped the gun on that:

Because of Trump, Republicans are now the party of foreign-policy weakness, passivity, and surrender—and not only to Russia.

Ahhh, there it is. We worried for a moment that Frum was losing his focus!

Presentation Paradox – HBO

  • Lacking in the superiority needed to speak down, in this fashion.

To close out with some levity, we’ll leave it to you to decide which is funnier:
Katie Couric posturing in this condescending fashion, or Couric insisting that she is an intellectual.
