Biden Tries to Fundraise Off Special Counsel’s Report Calling Him Senile

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

Have I mentioned before how shameless Democrats are? Well, they are. There is nothing they will not try to raise money off of. A shooting somewhere? “Show me the money!” They are the ultimate grave-dancers, sucking cash out of suckers by sending fundraising emails before the blood has even dried. When it turns out the inanimate object didn’t go on a rampage by itself, that some nutjob leftist did it, the money isn’t returned, the whole thing is just memory-holed and they wait for the next one.

Shameless, and gross. And the king of shameless and gross is Joe Biden. He used the tragic death of his first wife and young daughter as a campaign tool for years, lying by saying the driver of the other car was drunk. He wasn’t, and there are a lot of unanswered questions as to whose fault the accident actually was.

But none of that mattered to Joe, who repeated the “he was a victim of a drunk driver” story until the man’s family finally pushed back. The prospect of having his favorite anecdote torpedoed publicly changed his tune, because he’s gross.

When his son Beau died from brain cancer, tragically way too young, Joe started using it whenever he spoke with Gold Star families. He still does. In speaking with one of the parents of an American soldier recently killed in Jordan, the President again talked about his son and did what he always does – lied about him having died in combat

Beau Biden did not die in combat, he did in Walter Reed Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland. He did serve in Iraq, for 7 months as a JAG Officer (a lawyer in the Green Zone, not a combat troop doing patrols and managed to be awarded a Bronze Star for it). That was 2009, he passed away in 2015. He did not die in combat.

Democrats don’t care. The media doesn’t care about this lie. Never mind the fact that when talking to parents who’ve lost children – a horrible, unimaginable tragedy – he could simply be honest about the 2 children he’s lost, he lies to make what he must’ve thought (back when he could think) it would give them more of a connection. It’s gross.

Now, we have the Reverend Doctor Jill Biden Jr III (Who I believe you have to refer to that way or else it’s a hate crime) using the death of her stepson to raise money.

Yes, I said stepson. Hunter and Beau Biden are not her biological kids. They had a mother, and mother who loved them, who died tragically. I’m sure Jill was a fine stepmom, or at least good enough. But in this fundraising email, Jill wipes out the existence of Hunter and Beau’s mom.

“The reason I’m writing is because of what else was in the report: Inaccurate and personal political attacks about Joe,” Jill writes. “Rather than just saying the case was closed, as they have for others, the Special Counsel claimed that Joe ‘couldn’t remember the year his son died.’ Believe me, like anyone who has lost a child, Beau and his death never leave him. I hope you can imagine how it felt to read that attack -- not just as Joe’s wife, but as Beau’s mother.”

She was Beau’s stepmother. Nothing against stepmothers, but Beau’s mother didn’t say she was going out for a pack of smokes and never come back, she died. She existed, and while I’m sure Beau was grateful for having Jill around, and she was very much like a mother, she wasn’t his mother.

Not for nothing, but this is pretty common with modern Democrats. Kamala Harris isn’t a mother – she never carried any pregnancies to full term (I’m just speculating here, since she so loves abortion and all), but the San Francisco Chronicle ran a puff piece entitled, “Of Course Kamala Harris Is A Mom” in 2021. She married a divorced man with 2 kids, both of which were teenagers. Their mother is still alive, so how much “parenting” do you think Kamala did? None? Less than none? She was Attorney General of California at the time, frantically imprisoning black men, how much “mothering” did she have time for, if she were even inclined?

Anyway, back to Jill (I mean, they’re all awful, aren’t they?) It struck me as odd and exploitative to use Joe’s senility and Beau’s death in one fundraising email. But when they have nothing else, Democrats can always be counted on to exploit tragedy and do a little grave dancing. Yuck.
