When Democrats Show You Who They Are, Believe Them

There is a new phenomenon happening right now on social media that has many Democrats shocked: their fellow travelers on the left are showing just how anti-Semitic they are. It's both funny and sad to watch – funny because the rest of us have always known it, and sad because it exposes just how much burning hatred committed leftists have for everything and everyone who does not agree with them 100 percent. They aren’t doing it for fun, they are showing the world who they truly are because they’ve been able to get away with it simmering just below the surface for decades. And when someone shows you who they really are, believe them.

Anti-Semitism has always been a hallmark of the left. Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s administration didn’t deny passengers on the MS St. Louis entry to United States by accident at a time when Germany was rounding up Jews in Europe. It wasn’t a clerical error, Democrats simply didn’t care for Jews or what was happening to them under Hitler’s boot.

In at least the last 20 years, if you carried an Israeli flag on a major college campus in the United States, you’d face at least the threat of violence from pro-Palestinian militants. These kids didn’t come up with this hate in a vacuum, it was instilled in them by the tenured class, immune from consequences while creating an anti-Semitic, anti-American army of voters blindly loyal to Democrats.

The political leadership of the Democrats ignored it because they found it useful. Much of what Democrats advocate for can only be advanced through hate and envy, anything that divides helps. People will do and tolerate things in that emotionally fugue state they’d never accept in a calm, rational state. That means no nuance, no subtlety, just outrage.

That was all well and good to progressive activists, including Jewish progressives, who thought the people they were cheering the burning of cities and attacks on police with were on the same page on everything. They were not.

The terrorist attack on Israel exposed the rift they all refused to believe was there. It was one thing to “support Palestine” in the abstract, that was just a bumper sticker; it was something else entirely to justify and cheer the murder of innocent civilians because “there are no innocent Israelis.”

The “anything Hamas does is justified” crowd is real. They said it all along, after every small-scale attack. That could be dismissed as insignificant – random rocket attacks were mostly knocked out by the Iron Dome, so it wasn’t really real.

Paragliding onto a Kibbutz or a music festival and shooting everyone these terrorists came across was something else. It was made real to people who might have been uncomfortable with the celebrations before, but wrote them off as blips from an otherwise strong ally for their version of “justice.” Apparently, these semi-sane progressives didn’t realize that the wholesale slaughter of people minding their own business is what many of their academic leaders and their acolytes see as the ultimate justice. “No justice, no peace” is all well and good when it’s someone else’s business burning or some random person who didn’t see George Floyd as a particularly sympathetic figure being pummeled in a social media video. It’s different when you realize they view you no differently.

The people shocked now had no issues with attacks on conservatives. They happily called everyone arrested for January 6th a “terrorist,” no matter their age or whether they committed any violence or not. Now they’re stunned to learn the people they’ve marched and chanted with for years do not see the murder of more than 1,000 civilians and the kidnapping of almost 200 more as anything resembling terrorism simply because they’re Jewish. They’re not “terrorists,” they’re “freedom fighters” or “militants” pushing back against colonialism. And everything, no matter how horrible, is justified when pushing back against that, according to progressives.

On one hand, you can’t really be surprised when people avail themselves of the opportunity to act on what they’ve been telling you they’d like nothing more than to act on – their hatred of Jews. On the other hand, the people warning you that you were in league with a bunch of horrible people have difficulty mustering empathy for your very slow recognition of the reality you refused to see simply because it came from us.

The majority of progressives, the majority of Democrats, the “journalists” on MSNBC have all shown you who they are and where their sympathies lie. Believe them. I get that you’re not a conservative, you want socialized medicine and all the policy ambitions of the radical left. You meant all those chants. But the people you thought were right there with you were simply biding their time, ready to stab you in the back (figuratively and literally) when the opportunity presented itself. You have to decide which is more important: your Utopian view of the world or your existence. You no longer can say you weren’t warned or didn’t know who your fellow progressives are.

In a couple of weeks, sooner rather than later, their venom will recede and they’ll try to blend back into the rest of the crowd at whatever march or rally the left wing cooks up to be outraged about. They’ll paper over their hatred of Jews and Israel. They’ll hope people forget. They’ll hope to get jobs, they’ll hope to get booked on MSNBC and CNN, they’ll hope you move on and resume hating us the way they hate you. At least until next time, when maybe they do more than spew hateful words in your direction.

The hearth of the Democratic Party has, once again, shown you who they are, are you ready to believe them yet?
