Anti-Social Media – MSNBC

  • The temerity of this man, reporting on events you are trying to smother!

Elon Musk turned a few heads yesterday when he showed up at the southern border in Texas. He was spotlighting the immigration crisis, and this did not sit well with some journalists – in particular Mehdi Hasan.

He lashed out at Musk for daring to go down there, all the while not managing to exactly state what it was that had so bothered him. While he is spitting out rhetorical, there could be some questions for Hasan:

Why is it wrong for a citizen to travel to another state? More importantly, Mehdi, why aren’t YOU at the border reporting on what is happening?!

Blue-Anon – WASHINGTON POST

  • Phil, buddy? You really should just take some time off...

September has not gone well for WaPo columnist Philip Bump – at all. He now adds to the distemper he has been displaying by coming out with a deeply curious assessment following the GOP convention. Upon hearing Ron DeSantis mention China during one of his responses, Bump seems to have picked up on a detail: Those Republicans are using “CCP” an awful lot – it must be some kind of racist dog whistle!

You have to see it – a columnist at a major paper essentially saying we need to stop being so mean to the Chi-Comms.

Criticizing China’s communism is by no means new in American politics, of course. But this phrasing, the “CCP” iteration of that criticism, seems to be in vogue at the moment. How did that happen? There was another utility to it in both 2020 and after, of course: it once again pits America against communism.

Americans criticizing communism is now...a problem??? Amusingly, Phil manages to bump up against a larger issue, and he basically answers his own question, while entirely choosing to avoid the point. He even has a chart showing a rise in the use of “CCP” in line with the emergence of the pandemic. But in wonderful Phil Bump fashion, he does not dare take that thought any further.

News Avoidance Syndrome – REUTERS

  • We have to wonder how one manages to write out an article with their eyes slammed shut.

As more and more details emerge from the House investigation of Joe Biden, the press denying there is any evidence only gets louder. We might have just reached the low water mark in this practice with the latest from Reuters. In reporting on the most recent findings, the syndicate repeats the tired and pathetic phrase, but manages to blow apart that neutered claim with their own choice of a photo to promote their denial.

DNC PR Firm – ROLLING STONE

When the news was released that Elon Musk was tearing down some or all of Xitter’s election integrity division, you knew there would be those in the press wailing about the threat to our democracy. To see this from Rolling Stone is both expected, but no less pathetic.

This used to be the magazine that was about rebellion and flipping the middle finger at the establishment. Today, they are reduced to mewling about the government being hindered in its desire to silence people and accusing those on the right of seeing the Twitter Files proving the White House was involved in silencing people as trafficking in a nefarious conspiracy. “Stick it to The Man!” has now become sticking up FOR The Man.

Legalized Press-titution – FOX BUSINESS

  • Will there be a discount code offered during Fox & Friends?

We are not too sure how we feel about this one. On the one hand, we are all in favor of beer, of course. But to see Fox pimping out a pandering brand that has put out a new version of its brew with Donald Trump’s mugshot featured on the label just feels...off.
