The etymology of “donkey” and “ass” suggest undifferentiation. One could fairly stipulate that most of the donkeys in Washington are asses. None more than our President.
President Biden and his Progressive Left are undeservedly so cocksure of themselves that they believe the only time they were ever wrong was when they thought they were wrong but were really right.
Biden continues his injudicious displays as Woodrow Wilson and FDR during their secreted, infirm Presidential tenures. Lloyd Billingsley concludes, “Biden is fundamentally transforming a nation of abundance into a place of scarcity and shortages. A nation known for stability is being fundamentally transformed into a nation of insecurity and fear. The Delaware Democrat is transforming America into a place where the president describes colossal failure as unalloyed success and expects the people to clap approval.” Searching Google for the terms “Biden and Non compos-mentis” gets only 18,480 hits. His secret’s safe with Google.
Biden discovered novel sweeping powers never claimed before. producing an economy that is reeling from inflation and the revaluation of the dollar thanks to Janet Yellen’s Treasury impotence, with her left-handling of what was a thriving America economy under Trump. America’s economy has gone from 1.8% to an inflationary spiral of 8%—a high not reached since the 70’s and 80’s; Yellen appears clueless about how to control it.
Milton Freidman is rolling over in his grave. As he and his wife, Rose, wrote in 1980, “A society that puts equality—in the sense of equality of outcome—ahead of freedom, will end up with neither equality nor freedom. The use of force to achieve equality will destroy freedom, and the force, introduced for good purposes, will end up in the hands of people who use it for their own interests.”

Political philosopher John Rawls, an early voice of the liberal economic tradition, best known for his theory of “justice as fairness,” proscribed a society of free citizens who enjoy equal basic rights, cooperating within an egalitarian, but meritocratic economic system. Progressive fairness derives from the color of one’s skin and chromosomal make up, the content of one’s character be damned.
CitiJournal’s James B. Meigs pins the guilty tail on the Biden donkey with his mishandling of the Chinese spy balloon and bumbling the toxic spill from the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. Meigs reports, “Visiting the troubled region the day after, former president Donald Trump had passed out free Big Macs and bottles of ‘Trump Water’ was less than ideal...Buttigieg—unlike Trump—hardly looked happy to be there.” Meigs concludes Biden’s ham-handed response to public concerns during crises are “slow to address the problem, less than fully transparent, or appear to be putting political calculations first, quickly losing public trust.” These crises aren’t trivial, marking yet another decline in public confidence in the American government.
Our federal national debt’s increase under Biden is astonishing. Economist John Goodman writes, “According to the Treasury Department, the federal debt is about $31.4 trillion. Subtracting the amount the government owes to itself (bonds held by federal agencies), the debt nets to roughly $24.5 trillion—close to the nation’s entire annual output of goods and services…[but] omitting another kind of debt—unfunded promises made under such entitlement programs as Social Security and Medicare,” estimated to become $51 trillion by 2033.
The public no longer trusts our progressive government. Pew Research Center presents data that public trust in government continues to drop to historic lows under Biden. Assessing American trust in Washington to do what is right, just 2% answered “just about always” and 19% said “most of the time.” Trust took a nosedive before Biden’s first year in office, when 24% said they could trust the government “at least most of the time.”
With Biden’s Federal give-away programs (forgiving student college debt to win the allegiance of young voters), there is no careful examination of the weight it places on citizens who pay more than their fair share of taxes. Biden ensures all Americans pay their “fair share” of the tax burden through enacting the Inflation Reduction Act [SIC], allocating $79.6 billion to the IRS over the next 10 years ostensibly to clear the tax return backlog, improve customer service, renew technology and hire additional workers. Biden’s IRS also established weaponized environmental justice priorities requiring recipients of many of the Act’s funding streams to demonstrate equity impacts (think Obama with Lois Lerner’s weaponized IRS).
Biden recently discovered novel sweeping powers never claimed before, inculcating a systemic racism bugaboo into the National Science Foundation through funding that encourages scientists and administrators to seek out and destroy whatever they say racism is.
Contaminating the hard sciences isn’t enough, so Biden’s administration has proposed across- the-board federal hiring rules that can be abused to deny employment to anyone who is not of color, questions existing woke policies, criticizes the government, or belongs to a politically problematic organization.
Bless Governor DeSantis’ standing tall, attacking DEI’s “wokeness” in Florida’s public educational systems. Christopher Rufo has unmasked Florida’s state universities for inculcating Marxism into unlikely classes like accounting, the hard sciences, engineering and medicine.
Biden’s government also promulgates more than two human genders. Colin Wright reports that “recently we have experienced a concerted effort to overthrow the perdurable scientific consensus, replacing it with the notion that ‘male’ and ‘female’ represent only two of several, authentic, discrete biological categories in humans. Transgenderism now substitutes for bi-genderism.” In Biden’s first week as President, he issued an executive order, “Preventing and Combating Discrimination on the Basis of Gender Identity or Sexual Orientation,” selecting Rachel Levine as his HHS Assistant Secretary and Shawn Skelly as the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Readiness, along with at least 10 additional openly LGBTQ members. Perhaps that’s why they dallied before shooting-down China’s spy balloon after completing its continental U.S. and Hawaii passage, beaming green reconnaissance lasers at will.
The Right thinks very differently about race and gender. Renu Mukherjee writes that former South Carolina Governor Niki Haley and Senator Tim Scott (racial minorities), “aren’t denying that America has failed to live up to its ideals in times past. They’re just saying, as [Martin Luther] King did in 1963, that our response to these failures shouldn’t be to toss the ideals aside, as many on the political left would like us to do, but instead to strive harder to meet them. [Haley correctly says] ‘Even on our worst day, we are blessed to live in America’.”
Add to this insanity, one of our most beloved cartoonists, Scott Adams, the purveyor of Dilbert, noted recently that he had been in the habit of identifying as black because he wanted to do what he could to help black people. This tongue-in-cheek response led to the cartoon strip being cancelled by hundreds of newspapers across America. A Rasmussen poll asked Americans whether it’s O.K. to be white; nearly half the black respondents answered “no, it is not OK to be white,” or said “they were uncertain.”
Getting the most highly qualified person for the job rather than one who garners the most political approbation seems anathema to Biden’s progressive delusion. Paraphrasing Obama, it’s all about hopeless change.
