There Is No Limit To How Dumb These Liberals Are

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Townhall.com.

I really do marvel at just how dumb some of these pitches for cash are from these leftist organizations. It’s like they know they’ve already milked people with room temperature intelligence for all they’re worth and all they have left are the extremely dumb people who believe things like the moon landing was faked or Hillary’s Steele dossier is real. You have to be a primetime MSNBC viewer to unlock the level of idiocy needed to fall for this garbage. A normal person would be offended, but we aren’t dealing with normal people here, we’re dealing with liberals.

It’s a testament to just how far the left will go to raise money that if you signed up for anything in a previous election, you’re being barraged with pleas for cash now (and probably forever). As best as I can remember, I never signed up for anything other than the Biden campaign’s notifications in 2020. But the moment I did, I began to be inundated with emails from the DNC, the DCCC, the DSCC, the DGA, Stop Republicans, Train Democrats, Democratic Strategy Institute, etc., etc. It’s kind of weird since many of those groups, those not associated directly with the party, aren’t legally allowed to coordinate with campaigns and candidates, but apparently they can buy email lists off them.

And that’s not a small point. You sign up for one of these and you don’t “get” them all, you’ve been sold to all. The Biden campaign does what every campaign does – they take your personal information and sell or rent it to anyone willing to write a big enough check. Remember this next time some politician gives a speech about how big tech is selling your information to make money because the parties and activists are doing the exact same thing without a word being said about it.

That invasion of privacy and the hypocrisy around it isn’t the worst part, the worst part is just how dumb these organizations are getting in a desperate scramble for cash. This week was particularly stupid, so here’s just a quick sampling.

The group “Stop Republicans” sent an email entitled, “Tucker Carlson TERMINATES Jan 6th investigation??” If only he had that power. In it they write, “Liz Cheney is the only Republican working to uncover the TRUTH about January 6th, but right now she has no support!” Adam Kinzinger must be rolling over in the political grave he buried himself in for no reason.

They then go on to claim, “If Liz Cheney doesn’t receive enough support, Tucker Carlson and Trump’s GOP will END the Jan. 6th investigation.” Again, I know Tucker and while I have not asked him, I do not believe he has this power. Then again, you can convince stupid people of just about anything.

Not to be out-stupid-ed, the “Democratic Strategy Institute” skipped the aggressive scolding for a “we’re very disappointed in you” approach. Their subject line was “so disappointed -- no one signed.” Signed what? A “petition” to force Congress to pass a Constitutional amendment to abolish the Electoral College. “WE TOLD YOU that we needed 20,000 signatures to force Congress to see this plan through. BUT YOU DID NOTHING,” they said.

It’s true, I did nothing. It’s all my fault. Well, my fault and the fault of the reality of amending the Constitution has nothing to do with a left-wing Internet fundraising ploy. Just think of how vacant your head must be to fall for this.

Arizona Senator Mark Kelly has joined up with “Stop Republicans” to jointly fundraise (meaning a 50-50 split) and has adopted their pathetic tone too. With the subject line, “Is there ANYTHING I can say, Derek?” Kelly comes off even worse than usual. “I’m writing to ask if there’s ANYTHING I can say to convince you to make a contribution before our fundraising deadline comes to an end at midnight tonight,” the email opens.

So, is he admitting he’s a politician who’ll say anything to get elected? Is that what I’m reading here? Actually, yes. Because nowhere in the email does it say anything about what Mark Kelly believes in or wants to do, it’s all about who big and evil his opponent, Republican Blake Masters, allegedly is.

These are but a small sampling from only a few of the left-wing fundraising hyperventilations from this week, but they herald a new low in the stupidity game for them. One can only wonder at the new bottom they will reach this week.
