I spent Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday of this week in Joe Biden’s playground. No, not his vacant head, but Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Honestly, it was glorious. The wife and I took the kids and the in-laws here to have fun in the sand and at Funland (If you don’t know what Funland is and you have young kids, find out here and either make the trip or find a similar place near you). Walking down the busy boardwalk you can’t help but notice something: the people who live here don’t like the Joe Biden any more than people anywhere else in the country.
Yes, there is a bit of commercialism to it, so some of what is evident everywhere in the waterfront area should be looked at through that lens. That having been said, I didn’t see one pro-Biden anything down there.
I’m sure there were pro-Biden bumper stickers, who looks at bumper stickers when they’re walking? If there were, I didn’t notice them. But as far as visible things people can do – t-shirts, hats, etc. – there was literally nothing.
On the contrary, t-shirt shops (of which there are plenty on and around the boardwalk) offered an array of anti-Biden shirts and hats. From your typical “F Joe Biden” and “Let’s Go Brandon” shirts, to “Traitor Joe’s” shirts and hats, the people Biden represented in the Senate since the Earth cooled have significantly cooled on him.
His vacation mansion (because every once in a while you just have to get away from your regular mansion, right?) is about a half mile, maybe less, north of where all the action is. When he’s in town he makes the whole area miserable for the people who live, work, or visit the city.

“They shut everything down so that idiot can get ice cream,” on local business owner told me. “You can’t move when he’s moving.”
One recent event, according to another local, involved a small plane flying into town without getting prior clearance. “They shut down everything within 2 miles, no one could do anything” this person told me “while they moved him to the fire house” for protection.
It was, needless to say, not a true emergency, but the Secret Service doesn’t have the luxury of underacting. Some President have stopped doing certain things they enjoyed while in office because of the inconvenience that activity cost other people, but Joe Biden is not one of those types of people.
Biden is like Barack Obama, who never seemed to notice or care about the disruptions in his wake. He got what he wanted, to hell with anyone else. Just ask the people in Manhattan about his frequent and usually unnecessary trips there and how they impacted their ability to move around freely.
Manhattan is huge compared to Rehoboth, and the disruption is equal in both cases. Why?
Is it so Joe can feel like a normal person and just get away from it all for a while? Of course not. Joe Biden hasn’t been a “normal” person since he was 29 years old when he was first elected to the Senate. He simply doesn’t give a damn about other people and how his existence damages them because he hasn’t had to for half a century.
Another reason Joe likes it here is the privacy it affords him. Not from prying eyes – a media which happily ignored the allegations from Tara Reade against him has a JFK-level of interest in his personal peccadillos – but from something far more damaging they might accidentally discover if they did any journalism what-so-ever anymore: who he meets with when not in the White House.
Who is Joe meeting with? It has to be people his handlers don’t want the public to know about. Meetings in his Delaware mansions aren’t subject to federal disclosure rules; there is no visitor log. Could he be meeting with doctors treating him with God knows what for dementia? Could he be meeting with agents of foreign governments he or his son have profited off of? Absolutely. There’s a reason they don’t want us to know.
Whatever Joe Biden is doing in Rehoboth Beach, it’s sure as hell not being an effective leader of the free world. Too bad we don’t have a media interested in finding out.
