It is time to reopen America. The extended lockdown to "flatten the curve" effectually flattened our economy, decimated businesses, left millions unemployed, and drained life savings. We tried, yet people still died, because that is what incurable viruses do.
There is no reason for states to remain under lockdown. Unless, of course, your goal is to destroy what is left of the U.S. economy, ditch capitalism, and become like the weight loss capital of the world, Venezuela.
There is no need for Jenny Craig or Nutrisystem in Venezuela. No sirree. Overeating is not an issue when consuming zoo animals.
It is not that they went straight from eating filet mignon one day to zebra steaks and rhino burgers the next. It was a progression. Starving Venezuelans raided the zoos after they ran out of household pets. Pets became an option only after food market shelves were cleaned out. When they were still on the shelves, grocery items were unaffordable, after inflation ran through the country like a virus.
What does runaway inflation look like? Venezuelans were once able to buy hotdogs (think Ballpark, not Bowser), when luxuries like meat were still available. But it took Venezuelans a wheel barrel full of devalued cash to buy one. Seriously. A year ago, Venezuela’s inflation rate was 1,700,000% Hey, that is socialism for you.

Of course, we all know American socialists are far too cool to eat hot dogs. It is more Zen for Zynn (yes, that is a real name, if you are hip) to eat bats to stand in solidarity with communist China. Or maybe munch on exotic tree bark from his hybrid Prius while texting about a rent strike protest before yoga class. Tide Pods are oh, so yesterday. Meanwhile, the country looks like a ghost town.
Beware of those who want to keep America shut down. They are the ones whose eyes light up like blow torches when discussing socialist policies. They are exploiting this crisis for all its worth. Their so-called urgent reforms and over-the-top giveaways tucked in bills intended to assist hurting Americans are nothing more than a backdoor push toward full-throated socialism. But they will never come out and say that. Baby steps.
Democratic governors and mayors are doing their part by using false arguments to keep their states closed. They should be held accountable for the financial destruction they have caused. Writer Ernest Benn described their ilk perfectly when he wrote, "Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly, and applying the wrong remedies."
Here is the truth: Most hospitals and ICUs across the U.S. are not overwhelmed with patients. Many are empty, and some may close. Many health care workers, along with half the country, are out of work.
In most states, the overwhelming majority of coronavirus deaths are in nursing homes and long-term care facilities. The lockdown did little to protect the most vulnerable.
Even still, they want to keep America closed to hurt Trump at our expense. They want the pandemic to continue because they do not care about you or your family. All they care about is growing a dependency-class voter base. Even if doing so eventually leads to dumpster diving and eating giraffes.
So, you think that cannot happen here? Think again. Venezuela was once the wealthiest country in South America until socialist policies were enacted.
For a short while, Venezuelans enjoyed a lot of the freebies Democrats in the U.S. also promise. And they are more than willing to take everything you own to give them to you.
The Venezuelan government stole businesses from citizens and nationalized nearly every industry in the name of justice and equality. Soon, the government became Venezuelans' sole provider for everything, including health care, energy, and food. Then Venezuela ran out of money, the health care system collapsed, and the economy went down in flames.
Now Venezuelans forage through trash and eat wild animals while corrupt leaders live in the lap of luxury.
As I’ve said before, greedy capitalists did not rape Venezuela; greedy socialists did.
With empty grocery shelves, rationing of meat and other necessities, COVID-19 has given us a glimpse of the future and it isn’t pretty--if Democrat Party tyrants win in November.
Open back up America.
